- MMMKK4 days ago1.0I am regular at this Safeway, so I usually go with self-checkout so rarely do I interact with the staff here. But today I wanted to buy an item that can only be scanned at the checkout counter and then I had the most rude interaction with the middle aged staff at counter 3 around 9.30 pm. Firstly, he "advised" me to use dividers between items when I had already placed one after my items for the person behind me. Why not "advise" the person before me to place it? Do I need to place at both ends now? Then, when I was trying to tell him I have an item in the cart so he doesn't miss it, he gets more upset and unnecessarily rude. If this is how he behaves when the lane isn't crowded, I can only imagine what its like when there is a crowd. I get its July 4th but if you hate your job so much, maybe quit.

The poor guy was overwhelmed and a customer ended up stepping up and doing bags for multiple people in line to help with the flow. It was only at about 19 minutes of waiting before Safeway opened another line. Terrible experience. Hire more cashiers!
