- GBGio BernardJul 15, 20261.0Regrettably, I witnessed multiple serious food-safety concerns at the Chipotle at 975 The Alameda in San Jose at approximately 9:05 p.m. on July 14. An employee wearing gloves dropped a receipt or piece of paper onto the floor. She then pressed both gloved hands against the floor for several seconds while picking it up and resumed handling customers’ burritos without removing the contaminated gloves, washing her hands, or putting on a fresh pair. I also saw meat in the serving tray that appeared visibly undercooked, with several pieces showing a very pink or raw-looking center. I took a photo and believe the restaurant should verify that the meat was being cooked, held, and served at safe temperatures. The combination of contaminated gloves and questionable meat handling was extremely concerning. Management should review the surveillance footage from around 9:05 p.m., inspect its cooking and temperature-control procedures, and retrain the staff on handwashing, glove changes, and safe food handling. This was not simply poor customer service. These were potential food safety violations that should be investigated by both Chipotle management and the santa clara county health department.
