  We had a really nice time here! The food was great and I really liked the staff. We ordered escargot and both pasta dishes and they were all delightful. I was glad to have a warm jacket—I think the kitchen gets hot and the front door remained open for ventilation, which meant it was a little cooler where I was sitting.

  unfortunately we chose to have breakfast here during our trip. I know sf is expensive but $32 for two eggs and some potatoes??? are you kidding? even with the included tip, the quality, portion & taste don’t match the price. potatoes were burnt too

  Mixed feelings - I came in on a very quiet Friday morning without many other diners. I ordered 1 pancake, 1 piece of French toast, 1 chicken apple sausage and a coffee. I paid about $55. Pros - the classic French toast was amazing!! I loved the caramelized bananas and it was so tasty. I love the presentation of the food and the general atmosphere of the restaurant was relaxing. Cons - the buttermilk pancakes were terrible!! They were so chewy!! Pancakes should be fluffy… I think the chef might be over beating them. Other cons - $55 for essentially a couple chewy pancakes, coffee, and meat?? I get that it’s SF but no way is this worth anything over $30. Finally - despite the restaurant being almost empty when I arrived, it took them over 45 mins to bring me pancakes! I honestly think they forgot my order. My advice - only come here during off hours like a week day before noon. And be more assertive than I was about waiting for food an unreasonable time. Finally, skip the pancakes and get the French toast!
