Let me start off with saying that I LOVE soba! Soba is such an underrated noodle dish, and there definitely aren't enough soba-forward eateries in general (at least in my opinion). With that, I'm so happy to have found a couple in the San Francisco area, and Soba Dining Sora definitely didn't disappoint!
We arrived early just after opening to make sure we could get seats. The interior is clean and airy, providing a beautifully calm ambiance for diners to enjoy their meal in.
We ordered the kamo zaru (duck soba) and ten zaru (tempura soba). Service was super quick, and we dug into our meals. The noodles were delicious - the chewy texture and slightly nutty flavor paired well with the dipping sauce and various accompaniments. the duck was tender and flavorful, while the tempura were perfectly fried and crispy.
There's truly nothing better than an eatery that focuses on one dish, and does it extremely well - Soba Dining Soba certainly fits that description. I'll definitely be back in the future to try out their other soba options!

Cute soba place, just a couple of tips, was ok for me but could be great for you. Nice atmosphere, pretty good soba noodles. I ordered the hot soba with egg and chicken. Egg was good but the chicken tasted exactly like canned so if ordered again I would ask to skip the chicken maybe. Also probably wouldn't order it hot again wasn't the greatest. I probably just ordered badly.

Sora soba is the most authentic and best restaurant in Japantown! This is real Japanese food. From the second you walk in, you are transported to Japan. The interior embodies wabi sabi, its classy and calm, and they aren’t blasting loud pop music. The soba is fantastic and high quality, and the tempura is a standout. It is cooked to perfection and comes with a matcha dipping salt. I also love their udon, duck soba, and Cesar salad. My mom and grandpa are from Japan and this restaurant remains one of their favorites in San Francisco! This is our go to restaurant any time we are in the area

sora is hands down one of my favorite soba spots i’ve been to. the noodles were just the right amount of bounce, the broth was delicious, and the aesthetic of the place was so cute!! no wonder there was a line out the door when i got there
also everything was soso yummy!! the good soba is a must get. i personally enjoyed the duck soba more than the tempura bc of the broth, but the tempura itself was rllly good!! the tori kara was also so crispy, juicy, and tender. it’s a great start to the meal !! 10/10 def coming back

This might be one of the very few places in San Francisco where you can enjoy juwari soba made with 100% of buckwheat from the Shinshu region of Nagano. It’s remarkably close to the juwari soba you’d find in Japan, with a very similar texture and aroma. The only downside is the rather steep price, but considering it’s San Francisco, it’s understandable.
