The staff is very kind, but unfortunately I was disappointed by the food this time.
We got a salad and two pieces of lasagna. The salad was very basic with a very large portion. It was the sort of salad I could make at home—just lettuce, cherry tomatoes, and some onions with a balsamic vinaigrette.
We got the mushroom and abruzzo lasagna. While the mushroom had some vague complexity deep in the flavor, overall it was really flat. I typically associate lasagna with a rich full flavor, but this one was quite mild. The abruzzo had a slight hint of spice but without the complexity, and was also largely very mild. In addition, the texture was on the mushier side without any reassuring firmness. In the end both were lacking flavor unfortunately.
I'm not sure if there was a change in ownership or something, but unfortunately the food wasn't up to my expectations, especially considering the reviews I read here.

We had the Sausage (Abruzzo) and Eggplant lasagnas, plus a salad. Overall the food was decent, but not extraordinary. The biggest issue we all had with the lasasgna was there wasn't enough of the "differentiating" food evident. The sausage bits were too small and not enough flavor from them. The eggplant could barely be detected at all. The noodles themselves were very mushy. Nice sauce; it was still tasty, just not great. We came on a Monday so they were only open for dinner/takeout but that worked out okay since we were going to a class at Dogpatch Games next door - apparently they are the same business or closely connected - so we were able to eat outside in the parklet. Service was basic, but they seemed understaffed on Monday as well.

We came to dine in. They only offer “take out style dining” so your meal comes packaged and you use plastic utensils. The lasagna I heard was good. I am lactose intolerant and asked what was best on the menu given my restriction. The only meal they can offer is the salad with no cheese. I asked if there was a simple pasta and was told “I don’t feel comfortable serving that without cheese.” I should have just left but wanted my partner to try the lasagna as the opening hours are so strict.
My salad was just acceptable. At least the chicken came freshly grilled, but the salad dressing portion was inadequate if we were going to do take out. It was greens, tomatoes and chicken. I had to ask for additional dressing.
Surprised that they do not offer a vegan pasta option given this is San Francisco. I’m glad they are doing well in the neighborhood but I would most definitely not come back.
