  The age old problem for many SF restaurants, is a noise factor an indication of happening and the place to be or is it just noise. For Doppio Zero, if they could get the noise reduced then it could actually be a pleasant experience and worth while enjoying the food. But somehow at Doppio the noise is bouncing of every wall and ceiling making this place everything but my choice to comeback. I enjoyed their food, the pizza is nice and chewy and the flavors perfectly balanced. The little gem salad with the anchovies is super tasty and the brussel sprouts were crisp and crunchy. In other words the kitchen works, the front of the house does an alright job, not stellar but functional just the house or the building really works against the experience.

  Food was amazing, definitely want to come back. Service was slow, and not very good. I had to sit outside and waiter never offered to turn heat lamp on. I understand Service is busy, but you should treat every customer the same. You never know who that single person may be.

  We planned to have dinner in Hayes because we were going to SFJAZZ later that evening. We had walked by this restaurant a few years ago when we lived in Hayes, but never had a chance to try it, so we finally decided to give it a shot. We ordered two drinks, the Espresso Fizz and the Mama Mia. The Espresso Fizz was made with vodka, coffee liquor, Frangelico, espresso, and a toasted marshmallow. It tasted really good, well-balanced with a rich and aromatic coffee flavor. The Mama Mia came with gin, raspberry syrup, strawberry puree, canton, cointerau, Licor 43, and egg white. This drink tasted fruity and refreshing. We started with the Calamari and Shrimp, which came with fried calamari and shrimp with a side of tomato sauce. They were fried to perfect crispiness while still tender inside, and the shrimps were jumbo-sized and sweet. We also got a Margherita pizza, which was made with tomato, mozzarella, Parmigiano Reggiano, and basil. It was simple, classic, and delicious. The only thing we were disappointed with was the service. Our server never came to check on us throughout the meal and only returned after we had finished eating. We wanted to ask for red chili pepper and cheese, but we couldn't find him while we were eating, so we just gave up. I hope the service can be more attentive in the future. Other than this, everything was great.

  TL;DR: Great food, poor customer service, inaccurate website A month ago, one of the pizzas I ordered looked totally different from the online menu. I tried reporting the problem by replying to their text and email and by answering their survey, all of which were ignored. After emailing the location directly, I finally got a request for more information. I explained what happened and sent in photos showing that the pizza received did not match the photo in the online menu (but did match the description). It's been over 3 weeks, and I haven't gotten a response, and the website and app still show the wrong picture.

  Service is ZERO STARS WHY DID I HAVE TO GET UP FROM MY TABLE WHEN NOBODY HAS CHECKED ON ME TO GET FRESH GROUND PEPPER. NOT EVEN AN IM SORRY?!?!?! THIS PLACE MUST BE UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT, YOU SUCK This could be why your once full dining room is empty on a Friday at 1215. 🤮
