They grow the greens right there in the restaurant — you can see the farm through the windows — and you can taste the difference. Everything was crisp, fresh, and picked that morning. Fast, friendly service and a great option for a healthy meal that doesn’t feel like a compromise. Glad they brought this concept to San Francisco. Will be back

these salads really do taste different. i feel like i've never eaten a salad where i can taste the freshness of the ingredients. it's also incredible that they have their farm right there within the store itself! it's a beautiful showcase of technology helping to enable better food and health, big fan! the smoothies are amazing too!

I really want to like this place: the employees are incredibly friendly, the food seems fresh, and this area of the city needs more food options.
Unfortunately, the food here tastes very mediocre in my opinion. I had the hot honey chicken salad and although the veggies are fresh, it was a pretty small salad overall (especially for $18) and nothing about it stood out. The veggies had a decent taste but even with dressing it was a fairly bland salad.
The peanut butter banana smoothie was similarly disappointing. There was a hint of peanut butter flavoring but it was overall very bland and I didn't really taste banana.
Nothing about this place is bad, just underwhelming. If you're solely looking for healthy options this place might be for you, but if you care about taste I can't really recommend it.

New favorite lunch spot in the city, no contest. I got the southwest salad and a berry smoothie.
They grow the greens right there in the restaurant, and you can taste it immediately — the lettuce has actual flavor and it’s still crisp at the last forkful. Anyone who eats a lot of salads(me!) knows how rare that is. The microgreens are a nice touch too.
Portion was generous, it came out fast, and the staff clearly enjoy working there. I walked out feeling better than I did walking in, which is not something I usually say about a quick lunch.
Went in curious, came out planning my next visit. Give it a try.

Stopped in at Clayton Farms today and I’m still thinking about it. You can taste the difference when the greens were picked that morning about fifteen feet from where they hand you the bowl — the lettuce actually has texture and flavor instead of being a vehicle for everything else.
But the real story here is the dressings. The toasted sesame ginger is outstanding — nutty, bright, a little sharp, and nothing like the sugary bottled stuff that ruins most salads. I would happily buy it by the bottle if they’d let me.
Fast, friendly, and genuinely good food. Easily the best salad I’ve had in San Francisco.
