  Had lunch at Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. on 5/5/26 with my family. Where do I begin? The entire restaurant has a Forrest Gump theme, which is great if you are a fan of the movie. The food is excellent, the staff is very good, and the overall feel is fun. The best part of is no matter where you sit, you have a terrific view of the bay, with the occasional sea lion swimming nearby in the water as pelicans fly by. Don't miss this if you are in San Francisco!

  What a horrible experience we had yesterday at this Bubba Gump's restaurant at Pier 39 in San Francisco! The food was not what we typically expect from Bubba Gump restaurants, and the service was absolutely the worst! It took over 20 minutes even to get a server to come to our table to order water, and she said she would be back to take our order. According to the staff, the resturant was going to close early due to PG&E maintenance. The way the staff and kitchen handled this was horrible. Our food didn't taste the best, and our kids' meals came out dry, and we were told that they couldn't give us lemon for our son's shrimp because the kitchen was closing. We even had to ask for spaghetti sauce for our son's dinner because it came out so dry, with almost no sauce. Our server was nowhere to be found because while they had customers, the staff were sweeping and cleaning the restaurant. I was so upset that we paid over $ 100 for terrible food, atmosphere, and customer service. This was supposed to be my Mother’s Day Dinner, and it was beyond disappointing!!

  Run, Forrest, Run... but maybe not to my table. My mama always said life was like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're gonna get. Well, at Bubba Gump Pier 39, life is like a plate of shrimp: you never know when it’s actually gonna show up. We were a family of five, and the kitchen's timing was... let's just say "special." Four of them got their meals served right away. They ate, they laughed, and they practically finished their dinner while I sat there staring at my empty placemat like Forrest on his park bench. My shrimp must have decided to go on a cross-country run across Alabama because they finally arrived 30 minutes after everyone else. I’ve seen Lieutenant Dan move faster than the service today. The view of the Bay is great, but I didn't realize "waiting for my food" was the main attraction. If you're dining here with family, I hope you’re not the one left behind!

  We've never had a bad experience at a Bubba Gump, and tonight's visit in San Francisco was no different. Having a stunning look at SF Bay, the restaurant's location is a bonus. Our server, Victoria (aka Swagtoria) was a delight. She was attentive and engaging, and her menu knowledge was superb. My Alabama Chicken Past was delicious, amd my wife thoroughly enjoyed the fish & chips. Plus, the "Ooey Gooey Box of Chocolates" was beyond delicious and wonderfully presented. The manager, James, even came over to bus some plates and asked about our meal. Upon finding out how distant from home we are, he was equally engaging with conversation about the area. We truly enjoyed our dinner tonight as we always do at BGSC, but this location might have outdone them all. Kudos SF.

  Omg I wish I can say the food was good but I never got the chance to eat anything except some garlic bread and a cocktail. I went there on 4/19/2026 I had dinner reservations at 6pm I arrived at 5pm to see if I can eat early that was not a issue, so after I was seated the waiter came to take my drink order. I ordered a water and a cocktail it was passion something with the name Tiki lol anyway, after my drink order was taken about 10 mins go by and I ordered my food. Salmon that comes with grilled shrimp rice and broccoli, so instead of rice I wanted mash potatoes and instead of grilled shrimp I wanted the shrimp fried which I was told it was okay I also ordered a basket of garlic bread. 25-30 mins go by and a waiter comes out with my food when she sat my plate on the table I noticed my shrimp was not fried so I informed her of the mistake, she took my plate and told me she will inform my waiter about the issue....Here is where they pissed me off after she took my plate I sat there for 30 whole mins I'm like it don't take that long just to give fried shrimp so I see a waiter at a register I tell him about my food issue he tells me he will check on it so I go back and sit down and again waited about 25 mins and no one came to me so I got up saw a different waiter and told him I was ready to go 55 mins and I have not ate so I told him how long I been waiting and i just wanna pay for my drink and garlic bread. While I was paying for the 2 items and as I was about to walk out the door I see my food coming, at that moment I was not interested i really felt like I was waiting for so long because I was alone and they was worried I was not gonna leave a tip but little do they know my tips are $20 and above but I never got the chance to eat the main course or any food items other than garlic bread. I know they get a lot of customers but I will not be eating here the service was terrible and I am upset I never got to eat anything so I settled for something else
