  Overall a very good store. As with any large food chains, you can expect some goofy stuff. Especially when it comes to employees. Some of the help don't want to be helpful. This particular Vons has certain areas that are really exceptional, others that are very lacking. The bakery is wonderful as is the produce area. Meat if too expensive so I can't speak to that area. Many of the other items that one would typically find in a grocery store are either lacking or nonexistent, others are unintentionally hidden or mingled in with other unrelated items. Even when asking the staff, they aren't certain where things are. But, as I said generally a good store and conveniently located with ample parking. Give it a try and see what you think!

  They treat every customer like a shoplifter. If you want to buy liquor, you have to ring a bell and wait, which often takes a long time. Even then, they won’t hand the bottle to you; they carry it straight to the cashier because they assume everyone is going to steal. It is a highly insulting policy. Most of the people work there need customer service school .

  On 09-09-26 at approximately 6:00 a.m., I was shopping at this Vons location.( Mission Gorge) I purchased blueberry muffin loaves and sweet tea. While I was at the checkout, one of the clerks walked past me and said to another clerk standing nearby, “He’s gonna get fat eating that.” This comment was rude, unprofessional, and completely unnecessary. I was simply buying food. As a Black man, I have experienced similar disrespectful treatment from certain employees at this store on more than one occasion. I have no personal relationship with anyone in the Mexican community and do not understand the persistent hostility. Grown adults working in customer service should not make comments about a customer’s body or food choices. This behavior is unacceptable.

  This is by far the worst Vons in the area. The one on Aero, or in Santee, or Lake Murray are all way better. This Vons has sketchy people hanging around outside asking for money and the staff are miserable. The store is always out of stock of items and it’s filthy. Every time I’ve shopped there the cashiers are in a terrible mood, never even say hello or acknowledge their customers, and genuinely seem to hate their jobs. The Grocery Outlet up the street has much nicer staff and better prices.
