  Decent store, decent selection, terrible checkout setup. It’s too bad because this was a choice the store apparently made a few years ago. They ripped out a bunch of cashier stations and put in a mini-Starbucks. Never mind the fact that there was already a stand alone Starbucks within a half mile and there’s other coffee shops in the neighborhood too. I get that the mini Starbucks is a revenue stream, but it came at the cost of cashier stations which were understaffed to begin with anyways. This Vons would be a great store if I could just pop in after work and grab what I need, but unfortunately, doing that means waiting in a line of 20 people. I’ve been in the store when there’s only one or two cashiers during a rush, and there’s only four self checkout stations and they didn’t even bother to put clear lines or signage. Great employees, but they aren’t staffed enough to regularly open cashier stations. This is great store when it’s not busy. It’s an OK store when it’s busy if you don’t mind spending 20+ minutes in checkout.

  Customer service varies!! Prices are highest next to Ralph's & lines are Ridiculously long as 3 employees miander around and I didn't like that, as three lines of 15+ customers waiting to checkout !! Open a register Vons.. it's just making me drive to a different store !!

  disappointing experience at the Vons on Mission Gorge Road today. I asked an employee a simple question and instead of help was met with a rude, dismissive ‘No,’ with no explanation or courtesy. I left feeling unwelcome and felt I was treated differently, because of my accent or appearance. Every customer deserves to be treated with respect, regardless of how they speak or where they come from. I hope management addresses customer service at this location.” If you remember what department or approximate time, you can add that to help

  I want to bring this to management’s attention. On 7/13 around 7pm, I witnessed a male employee at the meat counter working with only one glove on. He used his bare hand to touch his ear/face, then used that same bare hand to hand out food to a customer without washing it first. This is a basic food safety standard and it needs to be followed every time, no exceptions. I expect this to be addressed with the staff member involved, and for proper glove use to be reinforced at that counter. Food safety isn’t optional.
