  Excellent customer service from Dan. I have been waiting for an order of signature select water to come in since last Thursday, (4 cases) I have been calling in daily and not in yet. This morning I phoned and was told that the man who placed those orders was on vacation, and will start orders tomorrow!! These orders were placed at the Saturn Ave. store!!! I called Dennery rd. spoke to Dan, and he said he would bring out as many of the waters as they have in the back, and will hold them at the desk for me!! This store is a LOT farther from my house, but it is is worth the drive to receive excellent and amazing customer service.

  This Vons has the best fresh cut fruit and pre-made salads. I always check out their large clearance section. I got thin mint cookie bites, normally $6, for $1. Their meats and poultry are fresh and usually at a lower price point than Ralph's, especially if you look for the 30% price reductions as items get close to their expiration date. There is a different Vons closer too my house, but this is my go-to store for freshness, quality and value.

  They usually have two registers open, which keeps the wait manageable. This time, however, only one register was open around 1:30 p.m., and at least nine customers were in line. A second register opened as I neared the front, and a third opened while I was paying. The store was clean and the produce was fresh; the cashier was really friendly and respectful. But the long checkout wait made the shopping experience less pleasant.

  After getting my groceries I was prompted by the cashier to put my telephone number down and that would start to registration process to become a preferred customer thus getting me a happy discount. So I did and I get a text on my phone as the second half of the registration process. I then put the terms of the agreement into AI and find out that This grocery chain will sell your information to third party vendors. Nope I don't think I'm going to ever shop there anymore.

  This Vons has some very incompetent and not so nice workers. I understand that nowadays it seems like nobody wants to do customer service anymore, but unfortunately, it's your job. Basic communication and courtesy shouldn't be too much to ask. From the beginning, i noticed the cashier greet the customers ahead of me and ask how they were doing. When it was my turn, I smiled and said, “How are you?” and he didn't say a single word back. I had my own reusable bag sitting open and empty in my cart, and I even lifted my large bag of cat food so he could easily scan it. He then leaned over, looked through my cart and asked, “Is there anything else in the cart?” Maybe that wasn't his intention, but the way the interaction happened honestly made me feel like he was checking whether I was trying to steal something. It was extremely off putting, especially when I was going out of my way to be helpful. Then the bagger came over while I was trying to bag my own groceries just to help out, again this worker does not say a word, I ask for an extra bag since I didnt have enough space in my reusable one, he proceeds to moved items out of the bag I had already put in, and put THREE heavy juices into one paper bag without double-bagging it. Sure enough, when I got home, the bag broke and my juices fell onto the ground. With all the distraction at checkout, I forgot to enter my Vons membership number. I spent $145 on a relatively small amount of groceries, and several items had much cheaper member prices, so I went back inside to ask if they could adjust it. I asked the bagger while the same cashier was standing right there listening, I specifically asked whether I needed to get back in line and was told yes. And i asked if they can adjust my receipt by just providing my number, the bagger just nods so i assumed it was a "yes". After waiting in a long line AGAIN, the cashier finally told me they would have to refund and rering my entire purchase. My groceries were already in my car and obviously I wasn't going to do that and inconvenience everyone in line. What really got me was that while I was waiting the second time, I heard this same cashier asking other customers, “Do you have a rewards number?” If he had simply asked me the same question, I would have remembered mine and avoided this entire situation. He also could have told me before I stood in line again that they couldn't simply adjust the receipt. I dont understand why communication was so hard and why I was treated differently. Yes, forgetting to add my membership number was my responsibility. But the lack of communication, friendliness and basic customer service throughout this entire experience was unbelievable. Ive never had such a frustrating experience at a grocery store in my entire adulthood. I was trying to be nice and helpful the entire time, and I left feeling ignored, uncomfortable and extremely frustrated. People just want to be treated like human being.
