  When someone goes to a bakery to buy a birthday cake, they’re usually celebrating something- there should be a little joy and customer service involved. Waiting for an acknowledgment while three employees are there sucks. The glass display was foggy so I had to ask for prices that should have been clearly displayed. I asked if they could please write “Happy Birthday” on the cake. Instead of simply responding, the employee walked away and came back with the writing already done. I appreciate that it was taken care of, but seriously… use your words. A simple “Absolutely!” or “Sure!” would have made a huge difference. Communication and basic friendliness would go a long way.

  Vons is very lame with these dynamic price markers considering these were 2 for 6 just the day before. Very dystopian.

  On July 22, 2026 at 7pm I always go here for sushi after work. I grab a couple sushi and chop sticks and soy sauce. Then I ask for a bag for the soy sauce and chop sticks at the deli. They have always provided it for me, so that the chop sticks and soy sauce dont fall through the cart. This time around, some old grumpy lady denied me of a simple bag. Then when I ask the other employees that work their, she told them to not help me. Sometimes I grab some fried chicken also. I don't feel welcomed here with that ladys attitude. I will never shop here again, so long as she is there. I also work across the street. I will spred the news. Every one of my customers will know of that attitude lady.

  This is a little disgusting so if you don’t want a clear description of my experience you can skip this review. I’ve been buying here since 2009 when I moved to San Diego. This just happened a couple of weeks ago. Bought a whole cooked chicken in a bag and lots of other things. Sat at home with my wife, started chewing. Had a few bites, then BLAaaa…something is choking me, I can’t even spit it out! Feels like rubber is stuck in my throat. I try my best to cough it off… and finally it came out. But it didn’t just come out, I had to pull it and pull it from inside my throat. A thin and very large rubber band… the one you can wrap a watermelon with.. I wanted to puke just seeing it. Its color was beige similar to the chicken and was very hard to detect, so I decided to check further in the bag and what do you know…another one pops out right from the ribs… that is crazy. Tossed the chicken to the garbage. I really hate throwing food away. Next day I’m back in the store to complain, with a receipt, pictures, and 2 large rubber bands in a small baggie, AND NOT EVEN A REFUND DO I GET. Total insanity! I was told to expect a call from a higher supervisor that never came in. She (the manager) even took the receipt “to show the supervisor” but probably just to destroy any evidence. What a shame. That manager whose name I forgot, made it that for lousy $12 they lost a whole family of customers for life. What an idiot.
