Just had a very nice family meal on the patio with family and our pups. The food was very delicious for a very reasonable price in such a great location. Brian E. Was our server and did a fantastic job. Thanks Brian for making our family dinner such a memorable experience.

We decided to have lunch here after exploring Balboa Park, and it was the perfect choice. The restaurant has a beautiful setting, and the outdoor patio made the meal even more enjoyable. Everything we ordered was fresh, well prepared, and full of flavor. The staff was attentive without being intrusive, and the overall experience felt relaxed and welcoming. It's the kind of place that makes you want to stay a little longer. We'll definitely return the next time we're in San Diego.

Zorka did an amazing job, got the coffee old fashioned, blood orange margarita, Thai style duck with yellow curry, fish tacos and carne tacos but the cherry on top was the Tres Leche dessert. Perfect experience especially working around the 3 dogs that we brought. Thank you all very much.

As a San Diego local, I continue to return to Prado because it offers one of the most enjoyable dining settings in the city. The restaurant is beautifully located in Balboa Park, surrounded by museums, gardens, and some of the best sightseeing opportunities in Southern California. The atmosphere is festive, vibrant, and uniquely San Diego.
I find the food prices fair considering the exceptional location, and the food is consistently good. While the service is adequate, the main reason I visit is the overall experience of dining in such a beautiful setting. If your primary focus is world-class cuisine, there are other restaurants in downtown San Diego that may better fit the bill.
For the best experience, I recommend visiting on weekdays when the park is less crowded. Reservations are essential, especially if you're planning a special occasion, and booking at least a week in advance is a good idea. Overall, Prado remains one of my favorite places to enjoy the atmosphere and charm of Balboa Park.

A most refined dining experience. The Kobe beef burger was exceptionally flavorful, cooked with remarkable precision and accompanied by perfectly prepared fries. The quality of the ingredients was evident from the very first bite.
The atmosphere was elegant yet welcoming, fitting for a restaurant located within the beautiful surroundings of Balboa Park. The staff conducted themselves with professionalism and courtesy, ensuring a pleasant experience throughout the meal.
One does not often encounter a burger of such quality. Most impressive. I would gladly return and recommend The Prado to any traveler seeking a civilized meal. “A surprise, to be sure, but a welcome one.”
