  I used to love panera bread but its going down hill. Today I received my bill and looked at what I receive and then took a look around. Inside my heart said NO. This is no longer ok. Still a good place to meet people and do work but the rest is lacking. My biggest complaint is food quantity. The pictures of what I am buying do not match what I am getting. I order a sandwich and the picture it looks big and use words like "stuffed" and I get a bunch and a thin layer of veggies and practically no meat. All portions are missing represented except the soups. Maybe its hard to cheat these? I literally took pictures of menu and may sandwich to make sure I wasnt hilucinating And this would be bad except they have been steadily raising prices as well. Coffee is not even warm after 12. And service. No one is ever tending the counter. Tables are oftwn dirty at this location and if there is a manager its hard to pick them out. So to Pantera... dont become another red lobster. Where you have something special and are delivering value, then as you scale you hollow out the value and price gouge.

  Great food and a cozy atmosphere! Their bread is always fresh, and I can't get enough of the broccoli cheddar soup in a bread bowl. The staff is friendly too, making it a perfect spot to relax or get some work done.

  When my order was incorrect, (I asked for chips on the side, not a baguette). I went back, got the chips and asked for the "treat" that you get when your order is wrong. It is printed right on the receipt "we'll make it right and you get a treat for your trouble". First, the cashier, Anahi, basically called me a liar, saying I didn't ask for chips. I said I did ask for chips and she insisted I didn't. Then the asst mgr, Chris, told me that the "treat" does't apply if you don't leave the store with the wrong order and it doesn't apply to sides!! I read what the receipt said to him and he said, it doesn't matter...he's not going to give me the treat. I will never go to another Panera and have asked the HR person at the corporate office to get involved. I do not appreciate being called a liar...ever.

  I was not expecting the fast food style type of restaurant. Last Panera I visited in Chula Vista was a st down casual place. A little noisy. Food was excellent. Got the $5.99 each for two special. They weren't kidding when the menu says cold sandwich. It was quite cold, just out of the refrigerator cold. Sauce they used was delicious. Chicken soup was excellent, like it was homemade. A good meal.
