We had to ask for our order to be taken after waiting awhile and watching our server walk by a couple of times. The food was average, the coffee was great.

Arrived and was ignored for about 5–10 minutes before anyone acknowledged us. Once we were seated, we were told there would be about a 20-minute wait for food. We were taken to a table that was still dirty and then wiped down with a very strongly vinegary-smelling cleaner.
Our coffee arrived about 5 minutes later. The ube cream was still powdery on top and hadn’t fully mixed in, although the coffee itself did taste good.
We ordered pancakes, bacon, and eggs, and then waited. About 45 minutes went by with no communication or update. We noticed staff looking over at our table several times, but no one came to check on us or let us know what was happening with our food.
At that point, we decided to leave cash on the table for the coffees and leave. What was especially disappointing was that no one seemed to care that we walked out. We were never given an explanation or even an acknowledgment.
The food may be good, but unfortunately we never got to find out. The service and lack of communication made this a pretty frustrating experience.

The food was delicious, but there was an older gentleman that made a few off-color comments to us that could be construed as racist. I’d encourage a little more sensitivity training to prevent more microaggressions from occurring among the staff in addition to more comprehensive customer service training because we’d love to come back and the food was legitimately fantastic!
We had dinner here, it was excellent!
I had meatloaf with mashed potatoes and green beans-very tasty. My wife had homemade udon noodles with shrimp-she loved it. The menu has a variety of creative options.

Update: I originally left a fairly balanced 3-star review and included several things we enjoyed. I understand that the eclectic atmosphere is intentional; it simply wasn't to my taste. I was surprised by the tone of the owner's response, particularly being told to “look it up” and that not understanding the concept was “on me.” Different customers will have different opinions, and I think that's part of the purpose of reviews.
The Heat Bistro was definitely an interesting brunch experience.
The best way I can describe the atmosphere is that it feels like the owner went shopping, found a bunch of things they liked, and then built a restaurant around all of it. 😂 The decor is somehow Asian, Mexican, and a little bit of everything else, while country music plays in the background. The menu has the same energy. There are a lot of different ideas happening at once, but they don’t necessarily feel connected.
My sister ordered the lychee rosé mimosa, which was actually really good, although the glass was noticeably smaller than what I’d normally expect for a mimosa. The coffee, on the other hand, was pretty terrible.
Food was hit or miss. My buttermilk pancakes were fluffy, had a nice flavor, and were probably the best part of my meal. My sister ordered the banana cream pancakes with the cream on the side and toasted almond syrup, and she really enjoyed everything she had.
The eggs were soft scrambled but almost completely flavorless. The bacon was also unusual — very oily and seasoned in a way that reminded me more of bacon you’d find in fried rice than traditional breakfast bacon.
Our waitress was nice, just not particularly social or engaging. At one point a man came over and asked how our food was without introducing himself or saying who he was. We later realized he was the owner, which made the interaction feel a little awkward.
Nothing here was disastrously bad, and there were definitely some good items, but the whole experience felt a little scattered. The pancakes and mimosa were enjoyable, but between the confusing atmosphere, mediocre savory breakfast items, and bad coffee, I’m not sure I’d rush back for brunch.
