  My husband and I came here for our first meal on our honeymoon and it was the best choice! We split the gyro and the Reuben and they were both very impressive. The fries were great as well. The service was wonderful— both employees working at the time were so lovely. There was a nice loft upstairs to sit in and enjoy the meal. We definitely recommend!

  Absolutely loved the food! Amazing plant based options with a good variety. The people are so nice and make you feel welcome. Definitely a 10/10, will come back. It’s great to have a plant based restaurant in downtown. About time!!!🙏🏼💖🤩

  I’m a huge meat heater, so I was absolutely shocked when I took a bit of my wife’s veggie Reuben… and it tasted just like a Reuben! I know veggie food has gotten quite good these days, but I wouldn’t have guessed they could pull off a Reuben. Her fries were quite good as well. I mean, I didn’t steal any of her fries, I don’t know what you’re talking about! The staff was very friendly, and overall we had a really nice experience at the Gentle Grill.

  From Imperial Beach we looked for a vegan restaurant and found The Gentle Grill in San Diego on Google Maps. After meeting Amarleono, the owner, who told us he’d opened the place about six weeks ago, we were treated to a chef’s salad with seitan chicken and homemade feta, which tasted fantastic! Make sure you get a taste of his food – it’s well worth the extra journey.

  Went here to celebrate my friends birthday. We were able to have a get together upstairs. The owner was very hospitable. The staff came up and served our food. They were very accommodating and offered suggestions on their menu. They had gluten free options. I had the seitan brisket sandwich with fries. I enjoyed my time at this business and liked the ambiance. It’s a great place to kick back and relax. Would come again!!!!
