  We had an amazing experience at Coasterra celebrating a college graduation! The service was incredibly accommodating from start to finish. When the wind picked up, the staff kindly moved us to a better table without hesitation and even provided blankets to keep everyone comfortable. The food was absolutely amazing, and every part of the evening exceeded our expectations. Our waiter, Adrian, provided incredibly quick service and outstanding attention to detail throughout the night, making sure everything was perfect for our celebration. The genuine care from the team made the evening feel extra special. Between the beautiful atmosphere, outstanding hospitality, and incredible food, Coasterra helped make this graduation a night we’ll never forget. We came all the way from Arizona and will definitely be back again!

  Huge shoutout to Chelsea and the bar team at Coasterra! We grabbed seats at the bar during a very busy graduation weekend and were immediately welcomed with warmth, professionalism, and genuine hospitality. Chelsea was absolutely outstanding; bright, attentive, calm under pressure, and truly the kind of person who elevates an entire experience just by the way she treats people. The bartenders were equally fantastic. Even while busy, they took their time, stayed engaging, made great recommendations, and created an experience that felt personal instead of rushed. The service felt polished, effortless, and fun all at once. You can teach restaurant skills, but you can’t teach people to genuinely care about hospitality and this team clearly does. Beautiful atmosphere, incredible service, and a management team that knows how to make guests feel valued. We’ll absolutely be back!

  Coasterra completely blew us away! From the moment we sat down, the service was outstanding—timely, consistent, and incredibly attentive without ever feeling rushed. ​Now, let’s talk about the food, because every single dish was a home run: ​The Starters: We kicked things off with tortilla chips that were perfectly crispy and tasty, paired with an absolutely great queso fundido. ​The Entrée: The 32-ounce ribeye was a masterclass in steak. It was cooked to a perfect medium-rare, incredibly tender, and beautifully seasoned. ​The Dessert: We finished the night with the Mexican chocolate bread pudding, which was rich, flavorful, and the perfect sweet ending. ​To top it all off, the amazing bay views provide the ultimate backdrop for a meal. Between the stellar service, phenomenal food, and gorgeous scenery, Coasterra is a must-visit in San Diego. We will definitely be back!

  Beautiful restaurant, incredible view, mixed food quality, inattentive service. Came here for our 20th anniversary and we were disappointed with our experience. My wife's food was great, but my love fifty dollar steak was mostly chunky chewy fat and so undercooked it was inedible. Our server, came to the table 3 times total, once to introduce herself, once to take the order and once when our food was brought out. We didn't see her for an hour after that. I didn't even get the opportunity to ask them to fix it. Our night wasn't ruined but it now has a fairly low point attached to the memory. I will not likely be back.

  Upon arrival shown to an inside table. We told hostess we had a reservation for an outside table, she said they had a lot of reservations for outside seating and my husband said yes, one of those is our reservation. Shown to an outside table. We sat there for quite a long time without anybody coming over to our table. Finally someone came over and said has anybody been here yet? We said no, and he took our drink order. Again we waited a long time for those to come, and a server to show up. Someone finally came over and said it was very busy so he would just take care of us to help out our server. Gee thanks. Finally got our food order in. Food was good, unfortunately, we found a hair in one of our apps so that had to go back. Main entrees show up, and finally the wine we ordered to have with dinner. Manager comes and apologizes for the appetizer issue and said she was taking it off the bill and to order dessert which would also be on them (so we end on a sweet note). Bill comes, dessert and app is on it. The server takes the bill and removed the dessert and then we realized the appetizer was also still on it. After waiting 15 minutes or so, we finally go find the manager and it gets removed. Server mentioned that the manager never communicated to him about removing those items from the bill. However good the food was I cannot recommend this restaurant due to the absolutely horrendous service and lack of attention! Just one thing after another.
