This was my favorite breakfast place of our trip. This area is full of trying to be fancy new age B.S. breakfast joints serving mediocre food. This place is just your straight up show up and get a normal good breakfast shop. My wife had pancakes and I had French toast. Both were excellent and simple. I wish we had come to this place sooner so we could have come over and over again. Avoid all of the other dump places around this area and just come here for breakfast.

I had breakfast here a few weeks back. I ordered the small breakfast with cheesy scrambled eggs, with a side of bacon, house potatoes, and toast for $13 plus tax. They offer a decent size portion. The scrambled eggs were indeed cheesy and tasted pretty good. The problem was that the potatoes were also cheesy, which I was unaware of when I ordered. Both the eggs and potatoes came with a lot of cheese. It was just too much cheese having It on both I nibbled on the potatoes, the best I could, without the cheese. I left the majority. The bacon was good, but it was overdone so it didn't offer a good chew, just a crisp snap or crunch. The wheat toast I ordered was lightly toasted and heavily buttered. I would recommend the butter be served on the side, so one can control how much they want on the toast, or none at all. The hospitality was very cordial and welcoming. The eatery offers breakfast and lunch and specializes in pancakes and waffles, but I d here they also make mean burgers. There's inside and outside seating available.

Mario? Die for him. 100% some of the best service ever. Food? Incredible. So much of it for a good price and all of it was delicious AND it came out super quick. The place is cute as hell too, vibes were immaculate. Mario even came out to ask us how everything was and talk to us about our experience, super cool and friendly. His recommendations were amazing. The rest of the staff was amazing. Love this place, will absolutely come back whenever I'm back in town. ☑️ 💯 🔥

AMAZING FOOD! My mom started chemo today and this is where she chose to get take out from. My husband met me there to grab some food and he loved it as well. 3 for 3! This place feels so cozy. They just opened this month so if you have complaints about their interior or serving dishes, keep that in mind. The food quality and service here is refreshing. If you want kind service and yummy breakfast at a fair price - this is it! There are tons of cafes and breakfast spots in Hillcrest but this one stands out because its like I just went to my moms or grandma's and they made me my breakfast favorites. They also have a shared lot for parking which is totally convenient! *Editing because I went again one week later with my mom and can only do one review- side of hash browns is good for sharing (i did not share) mom got chicken and waffles and I got a chorizo burrito (also good for sharing)*

So... I love pancakes so much I would drive a great distance if I could find one that separated itself from the pack of standard, neutral, rubbery, thick, and unoriginal pancake recipes that litter the breakfast landscape. And I did. The unusually delicious pancakes at Cherries & Batter were soft, somewhat fluffy, though, not large...my one criticism, (I'll get 3, not 2 next time)....served with a maple butter syrup. Great combination! Not a fancy place. But the moderate price tag makes up for that smallish detail. One other bonus: the owner, who is the chef, and his family are truly delightful people, and in today's social climate, happy, smiling people that are thankful you're there are kind of a rarity.
