DYLAN sat us but after two of us said thank you twice, we were ignored as he just walked away, but the table he sat us on had crumbs of chips and rice from the previous party. Juan was nice to take our order and I asked if he can do a wipe down. They lack attention to service and BRETT on the way out has zero customer service skills. Retrain, retrain, retrain. Gracias amigos.

Don't bother. We heard this was a great place but were really disappointed . The food is generic Mexican food you can get anywhere. The place was packed. We waited 45 minutes for a table which was 15 minutes longer than we were told. The server was abrupt and robotic. It took forever to get our drinks, which were great, but we were never offered another one. We waited forever for the server to take the order, then 25 minutes waiting for the food to arrive. We were never checked on after that. We asked them to turn the heater next to our table on because it was really cold. The server said ok, but walked away. When he returned he said the warmer was broken. He never even tried to turn it on. We had to go get a pitcher of water ourselves to refill the water glasses. We weren't offered dessert. I had to bring my credit card over the the server to get my check.

We had such a fantastic experience at Casa Guadalajara in Old Town San Diego! We came with a big group of friends, and from the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was lively, welcoming, and full of positive energy.
The food and drinks were excellent, and the portion sizes were incredibly generous—everyone in our group left happy and satisfied. We were also celebrating a birthday, and the staff went out of their way to make it feel extra special, which we truly appreciated.
One of the highlights of the evening was the live musicians who came to each table and performed. It added such a fun, authentic touch and made the whole experience even more memorable.
If you're looking for delicious Mexican food, great cocktails, a vibrant atmosphere, and outstanding hospitality, Casa Guadalajara is definitely worth a visit. We had an amazing time and can't wait to come back!

I was recommended this place by my uber driver and I was not disappointed. I was by myself and sat at the bar. Everyone was super helpful, I could not remember the name of the gentleman that initially served me but Carlos took over (I’m assuming a shift change or break) super helpful and very kind. Before he took over I saw him interacting with other customers and he seemed so genuine and I totally felt that as he served me. I rested a skinny margarita off the happy hours menu and the previous bartender made it perfectly. Food was fantastic. I got the street tacos and I could definitely tell the tortillas were homemade.
If I lived here this would be a staple place for me!

If I could give Casa Guadalajara no stars, I would. I called at 5:00pm to ask if they could accommodate a party of 10 at 6:00pm. The woman who answered the phone, responded with "absolutely." She took down my name and phone number. She stated that they don't take reservations but she would put us down on the "call ahead list" - meaning, we would check in when we arrived and we would be at the top of the waitlist. When my party arrived at 5:45, we were told our name wasn't on the list. So we had to give our info again, with a 30 minute wait, and being put at the bottom of the waiting list. We waited in the seats directly in front of the hostess stand. 30 minutes pass and the hostess, who took all of our information and had been looking at us for the past 30 minutes, says "what's your name." We give her my name and she begins frantically making calls. They had given away our table and told us that it would be another 25-30 minute wait because we were being moved back to the bottom of the wait list. The hostesses and hosts were smug, unhelpful, and unapologetic. They denied that anyone would have told me that I was on a "call ahead" list. Ironically, another woman walked up at that moment and said she had a reservation for 2 on the call ahead list and the blonde hostess proceeded to tell her that there was no such list. I asked to speak to the manager. The manager was equally unhelpful. He was dismissive of our concerns and the entire chain of events that had occurred since the initial 5:00 phone call. They refused to accommodate or move us up the list even though we had already been waiting for 40 minutes at that point and other large parties who had only recently arrived were being seated. I recommend that you walk down one more restaurant and eat at El Sueno. They moved tables and seated us within 10 minutes, without a reservation, even though they were equally busy. And the food was delicious!
