- CTCassandra TutayAug 6, 20261.0Baskin-Robbins has always been one of my family’s favorite places for ice cream, and we usually stop by about once a week, often shortly before closing. Unfortunately, this most recent visit was very disappointing because of the behavior of an older female manager. As soon as I walked in, I could hear her speaking harshly and yelling at the younger employees behind the counter. The staff looked visibly uncomfortable and embarrassed by the way they were being treated. During this interaction, I also heard her refer to “this Latina woman.” I couldn’t tell whether she was referring to me or one of the employees, as there were only two Latina women in the store at the time. Either way, the comment made me feel uncomfortable. I later noticed that she was wearing a manager’s badge, which made the interaction even more concerning. This is not the first time I have observed her being rude. On previous visits, I have noticed her giving unfriendly looks toward customers, including people wearing hijabs and other people of color. Combined with the comment I heard during this visit, it left me questioning whether all customers and employees are being treated with the same level of respect. A manager sets the tone for the entire store. Employees deserve to be treated professionally, and customers should feel welcomed regardless of their background. I hope the owner or franchisee looks into these concerns and ensures that everyone who walks through the door is treated with dignity and respect. I enjoy Baskin-Robbins and would like to continue supporting this location, but experiences like this make that difficult.
