The "Workers" are so busy entertaining each other they have little time to help customers

All around really lame. you need assistance to unlock the shelves to purchase bar soap, staff is rude, and the low quality bags may break before you exit the store.

Pokemon vending machine vibes are weird. All I know is that after going to these at several locations - I never want to go to one again. Employees and security have been dealing with these for months so I could not see myself doing any better than them, likely worse. I empathize for the employees as they should not be burdened with the people these machines attract. Original review was me ragging on the employees regarding scalper behavior at machines when it was just a build up of experiences at the machines. I forgot to think about what security and employees have had added to their daily work life when these were added. I’m good off that, as far as I’m concerned they are all exceptional people dealing with this shit constantly and still being pretty chill people.
Edit: Appreciate the response and things were communicated and managed better today. I still think yall would be better off without them though, I am definitely forgetting about these things. They are a mess everywhere they are at, not just here. I do think requiring people open products would be cool, but probably unrealistic. I also think it is unfair to all the workers in the proximity, it is probably depressing and added stress - id imagine double or more from before they were added and they get no benefit. Not sure if I stand by everything in my original review as I am sure it is exhausting and depressing and I am sure these were worse weeks ago. So I could see if management and security is just at their ends rather than helping scalpers.
Appreciate the attention to my concern and a difference in the store. Pokemon probably has much more ability to change this than Safeway. Hope that area of the store can see a little more light.

I shop at this Safeway regularly and usually don’t have issues. Today I had an unpleasant interaction with an employee near the exit/self-checkout area. I was pushing a heavy cart with water and tried to move out of the way while apologizing if I accidentally cut in front of her while she was putting carts away. The employee responded with attitude, and as I walked by, the cart hit the back of my foot without any apology afterward. It was disappointing because I normally have positive experiences here. I just hope customer interactions can be handled more professionally moving forward.
