  I had a terrible experience at their self checkout line. When finished scanning all my items and ready to pay for it, an automatic feature was triggered which locked me out and forced me to wait for the clerk/cashier. What should have been an easy, smooth checkout turned into a long wait with a rude, snarky employee who did "fix" the issue, but did not offer an explanation or apology. (On the display screen, it showed a video of the customer, me, when the cashier was "fixing" it.) Later I called the phone number on the receipt and got a hold of a manager "Oscar". After I explained the situation and my disappointment at being treated like a thief automatically, he did explain. He said it was a newer system that had a very sensitive scale that if the wind blew on it, it would trigger the "anti-theft" lock out. I did tell him that I've never experienced such an issue at any other Safeway and that my items were sold per unit, not by weight. He said it made no difference. Another customer had the same issue as me, unfortunately. He also explained that it is something that they cannot "change or fix"... He did apologize, but I explained next time it would be better if I went to an actual regular line, because it would be faster and I would not be treated with such disrespect.

  The Chinese fod is great priced but it would be so much better if the guy wasnt so rude. I apologize that didnt see a sign. But saying you put a sign up and asking why are people so dumb and can't read to your coworker while I'm standing right in front of you is unnecessary, rude, unprofessional. Just because you're an elder doesn't give the right to be rude.

  The young guy worked at self check-out was being super helpful (Sunday night shift), same as the guy who was wearing a green safety vest, I was exhausted and confused and being a pain in the butt before store closing time🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️ . They made the very end of my weekend very nice. I appreciate their work!

  I purchased a 12-piece bucket of chicken from this location today. It was the only food my son and I had eaten, and within a short time we both became extremely ill. Fortunately, we noticed the issue before anyone else in our household ate the chicken. I shop at this location often and have never had any issues with any of my other purchases. I am sharing this experience simply to bring awareness to what happened today. I'm not sure whether there were any other complaints about the food today, but this was my first time purchasing a bucket from this location, and i hate we had this kind of experience.

  By far the worst shopping experience ever! If you live in Sacramento just save yourself the time and frustration and drive to the Safeway off of 19th street. My wife came to this store for the pick up and go shopping and alerted them in the app that she was there. She watched multiple people come and go that got there after her and called the number on display 3 times and got no answer. Finally a half hour later she needs to wake up our 1 year old baby sleeping in the back seat to go in and get to the bottom of it. The staff could not care less even after seeing she was holding a fussy baby and made her go get her own cart and refused to take them out to the car for her. Just to put the cherry on top the cart locked at the door so she couldn’t even make it to her car. So not only is the staff stupid and inadequate but they’re apparently illiterate as well it’s honestly pathetic! Whoever was in charge of the pick up and go on May 18th at 6:30pm needs to be fired and made an example out of.
