Came into this place on a whim but glad I did, because not only was the food great (and the prices were affordable) but it is family owned, for 35 years and it felt like stopping in to see an old friend-the server (owners son) was so delightfully fun to chat with and patiently helped me make the right choice as to what to try (I got the Com Chien/fried rice). Can't wait to go back and try the Cha Ca La Vong, and Bun Cha Dong Xuan which is their most popular dish. Also, ask about the Stockton Blvd. Passport that gets you 10% off. If you are a foodie like me who frequents the restaurants in that area, it's a fantastic idea.

We arrived on a Sunday afternoon and were seated right away. My friend and I wanted to try their specials for the month and got bun rieu and bun cha. Our food arrived fairly quickly after we ordered. It was an elder lady that served us and she was really nice. The bun rieu is very traditional, the real northern style bun rieu without all the fuss. It is very different from the southern style if people dont know know and were expecting something different. The broth was sweet and tasty. I ordered the larger and ate it all without passing out after. My friend ordered the bun cha and it too was delicious. I would have asked for more cha patties, and less grilled pork. The pork patties were juicy and had a nice char on it. The restaurant was clean, tables were well stocked with fish sauce, chilies and napkins. I would come back again and try more dishes.

I never had the pho with bean sprouts and cilantros only, and there were a lot of water on the veggie plate! I asked the Sever, she told me that is for North Vietnam. But I ate Pho Ha Noi before, it is different! And the Pho is not hot at all! The fried noodles is not hot , either. We were so disappointed! We didn't eat anything, but paid and left. We would never ever come again.

Easy to miss small corner restaurant serving up viet food. I've been driving by this place since moving to Sacramento. It doesn't look like much from outside, but oh my, it is great. Came yesterday for the first time now, finding myself sitting and waiting for my food a second day in a row. The inside is surprisingly nice, clean, and maybe recently remodeled. In Sacramento, you're always close to some great vietnamese food, and I am always on the lookout for the next best bowl of Bun Bo Hue. This place may have just been the best I've had. The broth was rich and complex, and the fresh herbs on the side were a little different than other places. The stainless steel bowl they serve in keeps it piping hot for the whole meal. The stand-out here was the noodles. I've just gotten used to the noodles just seeming like a filler ingredient alongside the typical Bun Bo ingredients. Not here. The noodles were firm, chewy, and had a bounce to them I hadn't experienced anywhere else. The egg rolls were great and the service friendly. Today, I had the beef stew noodle soup bo kho, I think, so I could take advantage of the lunch specials. It and the chicken wings were great. If i had to recommend one or the other, I would say get the Bun Bo Hue. This will be my new restaurant obsession for my favorite vietnamese food.
