  Heard about this spot and how good the gumbo is and decided to give it a try. Was not disappointed at all. BUT, they have a chalk board indicating desserts which they seem to be out of ALL the time. I’ve shown up early and late, weekdays and weekends and they rarely have side dishes. ONCE I’ve been able to grab peach cobbler—- ONCE. I’ve gone and the normal answer is we’ll have it in a few days none today. If you want gumbo you’re in the right place. If you want gumbo and side dishes… better call ahead instead of going by because they mostly likely won’t have the side(s) you want. The Mac & cheese isn’t very good so not missing out there but the greens are ok. The peach cobbler WHEN available is good and the gumbo is worth it. Do better yall, get your full menu available more than it’s not available.

  I have enjoyed Howard’s gumbo and now my three year loves it as much as I do (maybe more). The food is always consistently yummy. The service is top tier with friendly and kind workers. The wait is never too long and the music helps the short wait pass. A picky 3 year old’s favorite! We will continue to come back and support.

  We got the gumbo, catfish and sweet potato pie. They were all delicious! And I appreciated they sent lots of tartar and ketchup with my order. Will definitely order again 😊

  I visited Howard's on 5/30/26 for the first time. This is a stationary food truck on Marconi with overhead covering to protect you from the elements. During my visit they had some technical difficulties that impacted my experience so I can't judge them fairly as I know it was out of their hands. On to the food. Catfish has a cornmeal batter, which some consider old school but it was fresh and well seasoned. In the future I would order mine fried a little longer to my preferred crispness. The fries were fries, we've all had them, nothing to write home about but the were hot & crispy. The $5 Gumbo is approximately a cup size serving and worth every cent. My takeaways are: 1. Check your order before you leave. 2. This section of Marconi has zero street parking so be prepared to be resourceful in finding a spot. 3.Use the app or call ahead when placing orders.
