We celebrated Mrs. K's birthday yesterday with our first visit ever to Fleming's, and it was a happy choice. Fleming's has a lot going for it, though we found that along with some great hits, there were also significant misses.
One of Fleming's definite strengths is what I would call the "feel" of the experience. From the impressive entryway with its see-through wine bottle walls to the welcoming, friendly interactions with everyone we met, we felt good about being there. The message was that great things were to come.
The lengths that Fleming's goes to in making a special occasion feel celebratory are terrific. The hostess who seated us mentioned it; it carried through with decorations across the tablecloth, then a picture taken of us and presented in a frame. Even a complimentary glass of champagne, and a complimentary dessert at the end of the meal - nobody makes a special occasion feel as special as Fleming's succeeds in doing.
Our server, Roman, is a first-class server who contributed to our happy experience. Roman is a terrific guy with experiences to share and the ability to guide us through the meal. Not once did we ever have to wonder where our waiter was, and we felt like he was in charge and available whenever we needed him. At various times, managers came over to check on everything, but always in an unobtrusive and brief visit. Great personnel throughout.
But I do have to keep it real: with the food, there were both hits and misses. The single biggest miss was the seafood tower, which by itself, I would give no more than a 2/5. The crab is snow crab, not king crab, and the pieces of crabmeat were minuscule. They were so tiny that there could not have been more than an ounce of actual crab outside the shells, and it was not pleasurable to eat. The shrimp were impressively large and properly peeled, but they were overcooked and a bit too tough. The two pieces of lobstertail were also overcooked and not particularly fresh-tasting.
The other misses were the pork chop and the asparagus. The pork chop was impressive in its presentation, but too dry to be enjoyable. Some of it near the bone was better, but most of it wasn't to my liking and wasn't eaten. The asparagus was totally off, tough and chewy. But they noticed we hadn't eaten it, and without any request from us, they removed it from the bill.
And, there were definite hits. My wife loves good scallops, and she said Fleming's scallops were delicious. The onion rings were among the best we've ever had. Both desserts were excellent. The carrot cake was good, but the brownie was even better, served with ice cream and whipped cream. I always think brownies are too rich and dense, but Fleming's brownie is light and so chocolatey-good.
Fleming's gets a ton of 5-star reviews, and I have no problem recommending it. In fairness to Fleming's, they do hold themselves out to be first and foremost a "prime steakhouse", and we did not have steak. My first choice, actually, was a cap steak, a spectacular cut of meat that's very hard to find on any restaurant menu. But they were out of it that day.
For a special occasion, Fleming's is a no-brainer, and the overall experience is one you will enjoy. Go for it.
Enjoyed Happy Hour celebrating two beautiful ladies birthdays and we had Stacy as our server who was absolutely amazing. Stacy provided us with excellent customer service. She had great recommendations for us to share items and made one of the birthday girls a great suggestion for a birthday cocktail. She was patient with us and kept checking in to make sure our needs were met and she did not rush us at all. To top off the celebration she provided us with complimentary champagne and chocolates.
Job well done Fleming’s and Stacy is your fabulous shining star.
Thank you for a wonderful dining experience.
We will definitely be back to visit Stacy.

We celebrated our anniversary at Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar with a 5 pm reservation, and from the moment we arrived, the experience felt special. We self‑parked, but as we walked past the valet area, we couldn’t help noticing the impressive lineup of high‑end cars out front. It set an elegant tone before we even stepped inside. The valet and door host opened both the exterior and interior doors for my wife and me, a small gesture that made a big first impression.
We were seated promptly, and the ambiance immediately stood out — romantic, chic, and beautifully designed. The bar sits in the center of the restaurant, creating a stylish focal point, and soft live music added just the right touch without overpowering the gentle hum of conversations around us. Our table was decorated with mini hearts, a Happy Anniversary sign, and a handwritten card, making the evening feel personal and thoughtfully curated.
Our waitress, Amanda, was truly exceptional. She greeted us warmly and carried that same energy throughout the entire evening. For our appetizer, we ordered the Sweet Chili Calamari. Before it arrived, we asked if she could take a photo of us — not only did she take several, but she later surprised us with a framed copy of one of the photos that she took with her camera. It was such a thoughtful and memorable touch.
Amanda then brought two complimentary glasses of champagne, followed by warm bread with two butter spreads that were absolutely delicious. The calamari arrived shortly after and was equally impressive.
For entrées, we ordered the Jumbo Scallops with Mushroom Risotto and the Chef’s Special Vegetarian Ravioli (Seasonal Veg Pasta). The scallop's dish was excellent, while the ravioli, though good, could benefit from a bit of refinement. Still, the overall dining experience remained outstanding.
To finish the evening, Amanda brought us two complimentary desserts — the Creme Brulee we selected and a set of four chocolate truffles. Both were delicious and beautifully presented.
The biggest compliment we can give is to Amanda herself. She was pleasant, attentive, accommodating, and made us feel like we’d known her for years. Her service elevated our anniversary dinner from great to unforgettable. She is a wonderful ambassador for Fleming’s.
We will definitely be returning soon, especially to explore their social and happy hour offerings. If you haven’t visited Fleming’s yet, we highly recommend it — you won’t be disappointed.
This is the second Fleming we have been to and this restaurant is amazing. Service is exemplary. They should be teaching customer service. Shonda was our server and she was so awesome. Definitely upscale, classy but comfortable and welcoming. And we haven’t even gotten to the food yet. Lol
I really think this restaurant should be considered for a Michelin star. The food is phenomenal, always perfectly cooked served with such elegance. I can’t say enough about Flemmings. If you have a special event, you need to go here.
Flemmings took great care of us! We came for a celebration for our daughter, but I accidentally got the date wrong. Flemmings got our party of 4 in after maybe a 10 minute wait. So nice if them! Even though we came on the wrong day, Flemmings had a congratulations card waiting at the table signed by the staff! We enjoyed the Tuesday special, tomahawk steak dinner for two. Great atmosphere, and super service. Our server, can't remember her name, was very attentive and actually was ahead of us on bread and drinks, which we appreciated. The food was excellent. Our only slight dissatisfaction, if you could call it that, was the mashed potatoes were a little dry. The steak was cooked to perfection and rivals, maybe surpasses what I consider a top steak house in SF. All in all a great experience and celebration dinner! Keep up the great work!
