  The food is definitely worth the drive to come and try! The ribs are fall off the bone mouth watering good! The sides are tasty and fresh! Everything we tried was absolutely incredible with the flavor

  I bought almost 2 lbs of spare ribs, they are spicy for some reason. They are tender but there is no flavor just spicy. The green beans were ok as far as flavor but they were mushy. The sweet potatoes were just sweet. Haven't tried the BBQ sauce but I will definitely need to doctor up these ribs with some seasoning. Not worth $30 a pound. Service was good. Spent $73 dollars definitely not worth that much money

  The place is located at downtown Riverside. Have a parking lot at the back of building. Good size for indoor seating. Staffs were friendly and helpful in answering questions. The meats are tasty but a bit on the dry side. Adding their sauce helps a lot and improve the taste. Mac n Cheese flavor is unique that I have not had this taste before. Cold slaw is a bit too light, perhaps not enough dressing. Overall, even though the place looks a bit run down, but the food and service are great. Price is a bit high ($40-50/person) but relative normal for Texas BBQ.

  The first time I went I got a side and combo with the exact protein option I was provided and the second time I got the same combo / meal and it didn’t even come with a drink. I was petty enough to throw it in the trash I hope it was worth losing customer loyalty than trying to save a few bucks of fountain drinks.

  At one point in time I thought this place was fairly decent. But it is quite the contrary! I'd been patronizing this dive for ... pretty close to almost a year now, 8 or 9 months, give or take. And I usually left a tip (at least 15%, usually more). But after all of my loyal support they finally show me their true nature. A week ago ( about August 28, 2026), I was a bit tired after the day's activities and decided to stop in at this particular Spirit of Texas spot and grab a to go order. When I got home and opened it I was very, very disappointed. They'd really ruined it. Instead of the chicken plate that I had requested and paid for, this was barbequed rib tips. Also, the extra piece of cornbread that I paid extra for wasn't included either. I called the restaurant and spoke with a fellow who identified himself as the manager. I informed him of the errant order, he apologized for the mistake and arrangements were discussed for a replacement. The following week when I visited the eatery for the specific purpose of obtaining the corrected order, the reception that I received was quite indifferent. Before I commenced with my order, this time, I first identified myself and related my previous unsatisfactory experience, and requested the already agreed upon remedy. Which was not to be charged again for replacing the incorrect previous order. The manager fellow (the same one I had spoken with by phone a week prior), attempted to charge me FULL PRICE, yet, again. I protested and refused to pay it! Redundantly, explaining that it was I, who was dreadfully inconvenienced and that their blunder was not my fault. And that I did not consume or use the errant food order. I disposed of it. I didn't tell him that I dislike their rib tips or the majority of their so-called, smoked meats. Perhaps, the way it's prepared, I suppose. Tough as chewing dried rubber with barbecue sauce, actually. Rib tips was not what I wanted and neither was it what I had ordered either. The chap remarked that he'd accommodate me ..."this time, but..." The bloke was REALLY RELUCTANT and genuinely very UNAPOLOGETIC too. I found this type of behavior and attitude to be rather suspicious, questionable (at best), quite unsettling and very inconsiderate also. As a result, by no means will I ever again patronize nor recommend this establishment.
