  Old-school Redondo Beach in the very best way. We stopped into Tony’s on the Pier planning only to have a couple of drinks and a light bite before meeting friends for dinner, and ended up absolutely loving this place. I started with the New England clam chowder, which was fantastic—rich, flavorful and exactly what you want sitting over the water. Even the little details were wonderful, like the bowl of freshly cracked pepper brought to the table. Then came the biggest surprise: the spinach salad was outstanding. Fresh spinach, cranberries, cheese, an incredibly fresh raspberry-style dressing—and the WALNUTS! I genuinely don’t know what they do to those walnuts, but they may have been the best I’ve ever had. The entire salad was so good that it made me wish we weren’t already committed to dinner somewhere else. We also had Tony’s famous Mai Tai, served in the souvenir glass, and loved the whole experience. One small suggestion: I wish they offered a lower-priced refill once you’ve purchased the souvenir glass. We would happily have ordered another round, but didn’t need several souvenir glasses to take home. A refill option would be perfect. What really makes Tony’s special, though, is the atmosphere. It is wonderfully nostalgic and old-school without trying to turn itself into something modern and generic. We sat beside open windows with the ocean right outside, listening to the waves while yacht rock played in the background. It felt authentically Southern California. Our server was lovely and accommodating and never made us feel rushed. After we finished eating, she was perfectly happy to let us linger over our drinks and play a card game while enjoying the view. We came in expecting a quick drink and appetizer and left already talking about coming back for a full meal. Tony’s has personality, history, great food, a spectacular setting and genuinely warm service. Please don’t change what makes this place special. We’ll absolutely be back.

  The service was good. The food looked great as well but when I tried it it was too fatty. I ordered Charbroiled Seafood Combination. The salmon chowder was delicious, but shrimps, scallops, salmon and other fish were probably grilled with so much butter or something fatty. Didn't enjoy it.

  We got sick when we got home. The greeter was a grumpy old man. The server was wonderful. Very petite young lady. The food was terrible. The king crab legs were dry, over cooked and horrible seasoning. The fried oysters were undercooked. Very little breading Tasted sour. The linguini and clams is the worst item on the menu. The salmon chowder was cold and no salmon. Thank you to the server that took my fried oysters off the bill.

  We had such a wonderful time at Tony’s Restaurant in Redondo Beach with friends. The food was delicious, and the beautiful ocean view made our evening even more special. We enjoyed a great meal, lots of laughter, and an amazing atmosphere by the beach. One of the highlights of our evening was our server, Alex, who took some absolutely beautiful photos of us. He captured the moment perfectly, with the gorgeous view in the background, and gave us such a special memory to keep. We were so happy with the photos and really appreciated him taking the time to capture such a wonderful moment for us. Great food, beautiful scenery, and good friends made it such a perfect evening. The sunset and ocean views made the whole experience even more memorable. We left with full hearts, wonderful memories, and beautiful photos to remember our time in Redondo Beach. Thank you, Alex, for capturing such a special memory for us!

  Went to this restaurant wed night with my gf she hadn’t had it in years and we had the most horrible experience when we got there the hostess girl told us we couldn’t sit at a table that sat four because there was only 2 of us mind you the table for 2 is tiny so we got nothing but attitude from her and had to pull a stink to the point she tells my gf we’ll sit wherever then very rude. After that I wanted fried oysters as the waitress says they didn’t have them which her attitude wasn’t pleasant either seemed as she didn’t want to work there. My gf ordered the combination plate which as soon as she got to the shrimp she said it tasted like baking soda and she felt nauseous. Minutes later she gets up and tells me she had to throw up. Which she did and said she didn’t want her food. We then asked to speak to a manager as she took one oath off the bill. I highly again highly doubt not recommend this place has the rating they have for a reason!
