DO NOT GO TO THIS SAFEWAY!!!!
For the last four months I have visited this location to get a cup of coffee and buy a few groceries. Sometimes I buy gas at the pumps because it’s cheaper than anywhere else in town.
I normally try to avoid this Safeway location because I find the employees to be extremely rude. That rudeness today exceeded my tolerance levels. Today after buying my morning coffee at Starbucks. I was approached by the security guard and told I’m not allowed to come back on property and if I do, I will be arrested. I did nothing wrong other than purchase a cup of coffee at Starbucks and sit in my truck to do my college homework in the shade.
I was planning on heading back into the store to purchase groceries for my next YouTube camping traveling video.
There are a lot of Safeway locations some good and some not so good. Most of the time it’s the neighborhood that makes a store look bad. That’s not the case with this store. The store itself is in a decent area of town right by the police station. For the last four months I have been in Redding, CA every time I visited this store.
I have seen the same homeless people panhandling everywhere both on and off the premises. The employees here do nothing to stop them. I have seen homeless people with grocery carts full of their belongings, sitting right out in front of the store by the doors. Security, nobody tells them to leave.
I go there for three days in a row to buy my morning coffee, to buy gasoline and groceries. I don’t bother anybody.
I’m told to leave and never come back. It seems like the store employees have their priorities mixed up. I’m not telling you to not shop at Safeway one of the largest best grocery store chains in the country. What I am telling you is not to shop at this Safeway location. Especially if you’re from out of state and you are only visiting from out of town. The local homeless population is OK, out of state travelers are not welcome here.

Dylan (Dillon? Not sure of spelling) works in the drive up & go department. They gave the best customer / human client experience I have had in a long time and their kindness made my nightmare of an experience survivable and it helped me find a solution to the problem Safeway caused, when I wasn’t able to figure out one on my own.
Safeway the corporation sucks. But Dylan/Dillon the human at this location does not.
If it weren’t for the kind customer service from Dylan/Dillon, I probably would be researching who the CEO of Safeway is. To file a grievance and such, of course.
Thanks Dillon/Dylan. I’m probably too embarrassed to go back to this store now but I appreciate Dylan/Dillon’s customer service and hope they get a bonus, a raise, and employee of the year.

Recently went into this Safeway and Rachelle, who I believe to be the store manager or something, is EXTREMELY disrespectful and rude. I attempted to ask her for help with finding an item and was met with a rude tone, look, and annoyance. Not long after, I saw her talking to another employee like they were dirt near the back of the store. Terrible look for this location. I’d suggest hiring someone who is kinder to customers and staff.
