  Such a horrible experience today. Rude boys making food. Dirty toppings bar, employees did not listen to my request. Probably the worst chipotle I’ve been to. Which is odd because you just opened. No lunch for us today..

  This more recent installation of this chain may be the worst place to have lunch in Poway. Food: 1 star Service: 2 stars Atmosphere: 1 star Food: This Chipotle is such a disappointment from the original Rubio's Mexican Grill that used to occupy this space. How does a restaurant screw up dishes inspired by Mexican food this badly? The chicken was overcooked so dry it was like chewing through army boot leather. The lettuce had dirt and sand in it, adding a gritty, abrasive, and unpleasant crunch to every bite. I ordered some guacamole and the server hard GLOPPED a very cold cup and a half of their unseasoned goo onto my food. The salsa was ICE cold, rendering it near flavorless and cooling down the chicken and the rest of my food. Even the rice was both partially overcooked and undercooked, even crunchy in some spots. Only the black beans were decent. I had about 5 bites of my lunch before I gave up to say something to the server. I was polite, but the best they could come up with was to "make you another one." Another one of these orders, from the same trough? No thanks. I tossed everything into the garbage and left. Service: The kids here weren't bad, but I've never seen a more resigned fast-food crew. The crew at the original Rubio's was very professional, friendly, and attentive. The tired-looking kids serving along that food trough at this Chipotle are just going through the motions and couldn't wait to leave. Atmosphere: If you ever feel a desire to eat lunch at a cold county medical examiner's clinic with dirty food all over the greasy black floors and tables, then this is the spot for you. Think cold, modern, yet filthy morgue with flies but without the dead bodies. Appetizing, right? The former Rubio's was downright warm and much cleaner than this exercise in cost cutting. To make matters worse, the space and tables are poorly configured for 1 or 2 people to eat there. That is by design. They want you to take your food and LEAVE. Conclusion: Eat lunch ANYWHERE else in Poway. Preferably at a small, family-owned business. The bar is set so low here that no doubt you will find more authentic Mexican food, better service, and a cleaner, more pleasant atmosphere any place else. I look forward to the next restaurant that will soon occupy this storefront. Hopefully very soon.

  Way to expensive. You can go to a sit down restaurant for the same price and get more! I used to really like it but can't justify the price.

  I had a very disappointing experience at this Chipotle. I ordered three bowls, and none of them were even close to being full. The portions of the ingredients were much smaller than what I've consistently received at other Chipotle locations. When I spoke to the manager, I expected at least some effort to address the issue. Instead, he was rude, dismissive, and simply said, "It is what it is." There was no attempt to help or make things right, which showed a complete lack of customer service. I would not recommend this location. If you're in the area, I highly recommend the Chipotle in Carmel Mountain instead. Their staff is much friendlier, the portions are more consistent, and they actually care about their customers.
