Some of the most racist people. When they place groceries in a bag, they throw everything on top of another, you end up getting smashed items. Horrible treatment customers of color

Safeway is ok, too pricey in some things, its not my regular go-to store for major shopping, but they do have a wide variety in items vs smaller stores/discount stores. Nice, clean, tidy on the inside, clean restrooms, plenty of parking. I did notice couple of rugged looking guys sitting on the Safeway concrete patio smoking or something, they appeared to be "vagabonds", which I dont like to see hanging around businesses where people are to & from nor within customer parking lots. I conside that to be safety issue. Patrol should clear out that type of appearances from businesses & parking lots. Though Safeway, Pollock Pines area, is not my regular go-to store, I did shop in the day time & not at night. So Im not sure if Safeway leaves their parking lot lights on during night time. Safeway also has an ATM should you need to do banking & draw cash. Plus Starbucks.

I swear the management of this Safeway goes out of their way to make it difficult to check out I truly truly hate having to shop at this store. Just as an example you'll notice that none of the baskets are by The Doors the baskets are always right behind the checkout because they're too damn lazy just to take them to the front door where people can. They close down the checkouts later on and try to leave the self-check out open but you can't buy alcohol of course so they have one guy who will ring up your alcohol but then doesn't know how to ring up anything else. It's just always difficult. During day particularly busy when people are headed to Tahoe they will have one person or maybe two check out lines open it's just an awful store and it's just the management of this Safeway.

Closed right now actually for a rat problem they’ve had for about 9 years now. Really crazy that the company is so greedy they won’t shut down for a couple days to eliminate the problem all together. And the placerville Safeway had the EXACT SAME PROBLEM. Disgusting. Everyone do yourselves a favor go shop at Raleys or holiday and spare yourself the plague.

It’s a nice, clean store, but unfortunately the customer service is one of the worst I’ve experienced. Almost every time I ask an associate where something is, the answer is simply, “We don’t have it,” even when the item is actually in stock. Today I spent almost 20 minutes looking for pistachios because they had moved the display. When I asked an associate, he said, “I don’t know.” I told him they had been in the same spot a couple of days ago, and instead of helping, he smiled at me in a condescending way and kept asking, “Oh really? Where?” like I was making it up. I walked away feeling embarrassed for simply asking for help. I’ve also had experiences that felt discriminatory. One time I was shopping with a friend and we were speaking Russian. I greeted the cashier twice, and I was completely ignored—not even eye contact. I noticed something very similar happen to a group of Asian tourists in front of us. I can’t say for certain it was intentional, but it definitely didn’t feel welcoming. The store itself is great, but some associates could really use better customer service training. Customers should never feel ignored, mocked, or uncomfortable for asking a simple question. It’s the worst feeling when it’s the only one big local store and sometimes you HAVE to go there for something….
