Extremely frustrating and unacceptable experience.
Chipotle gave my order to someone else, and when I arrived, they handed me the wrong order. The receipt labels were extremely faded, making the name almost impossible to read. I assumed the order they handed me was mine and took it home. I should have checked, but the labels should also be clear enough for customers and staff to identify the orders properly.
After realizing the mistake, I had to drive another 10 minutes back to the restaurant to return the wrong order. I explained to the staff how much time I was wasting driving back and forth because of their mistake, but they were not very apologetic. Instead, I was basically told, “I understand, that’s why we’re remaking your order.”
I then get home with the remade order, only to discover that they got that wrong too. Both my food and my wife’s food were made spicy, even though neither of us ordered anything spicy. Now we’re stuck with food we didn’t order and have wasted even more time because of multiple mistakes.
What makes this even more frustrating is the lack of accountability and customer service throughout the whole experience. I understand that customers may take the wrong order from the pickup shelf, but that doesn’t excuse the restaurant from having a system to properly verify orders and clearly label them. And when the restaurant makes a mistake, I expect at least a genuine apology and some understanding of the inconvenience caused.
Instead, I had to make an extra trip back to the restaurant, wait for a remake, drive home again, and the remake was still wrong.
Mistakes happen, but this was mistake after mistake, followed by poor customer service. Very disappointing experience and definitely not what I expect when paying for a meal.
