In 2011 I started what is now LEVO wine. After receiving a heaping pile of rejection letters from all CA University’s offering enology and viticulture, I decided it time to wave goodbye to academia and create my own path in the wine world. Soon I ended up in Portugal’s Douro Valley, with a pair of boots & journal- I realized pretty quickly I didn’t need much else except good fruit, barrels & some siphoning tubes to make soulful wines. Since then I’ve stuck to these primitive winemaking ideas. I’ve kept my head down, pushing away the tantalizing voice of compromise and overused ideas of tradition.
I craft these wines in Tin City, Paso Robles. We concentrate on buying the best fruit possible, mainly focusing on Ballard Canyon & surrounding Rhone vineyards of the Santa Ynez Valley, Edna Valley, and West Side Paso Robles.

- CMColleen ManzerAug 19, 20265.0Our visit started with a greeting by Cannon, the "hard working" winery labrador. We were lucky enough to meet and chat with Bret, Proprietor and winemaker maker. His sense of humor and passion for what he does is infectious. We rode a Vespa, so very limited space for buying wine, but we're able to bring a bottle of the el paso de robles red and rose back to camp. We immediately finished the red with an excellent trip tip dinner and wished we had more. The rose is wonderful, even before you see the price point. We loved the experience and wines so much we joined their club. Highly recommend!
