We decided to try this restaurant on a Sunday afternoon in July. It was a hot day, they have no air conditioning so all the doors were open. They have good reviews so we decided to stay & try their food. As we walked further in towards the back of the bakery area it was hotter so we decided to sit in the front section where there was a slight cross breeze. 1st Impressions: AMBIANCE: • It is a very old restaurant, which we didn't mind. The front half of it reminded me of little restaurants in Mexico. The Art on the wall is very well done. STAFF: • The employees in the front seemed like they didnt want to be there, they were not very friendly. AROMA: • There was NO Smell, no tortillas, no onion, no garlic, no salsa, no bakery! No good restaurant inviting aromas! CLEANLINESS: • The tables seemed clean. The floor had wrappers & papers that the employees just walked passed without picking up. There's a lot of "dust catcher" nicknacks sitting around. The bathroom was very old & not so great. The bakery items looked so good! I wanted to get the Coconut pan dulce until I saw a fly stuck in the display case flying around landing on the food. FOOD: • Chips were stale. The salsa looked great but was VERY BLAND! I added salt to it but still had very little flavor. We ordered a small side of Guacamole, it was soupy. We don't think it was from fresh avocados. It didn't taste very good. My husband & I both ordered combo plates. I got the Beef Taco & Cheese Enchilada with red sauce. My husband got 2 beef tacos. Once again both plates were Very Bland!! No onion, no garlic, no comino, no salt no seasoning! I added salt & pepper to mine, it barely helped. The beans & rice were not very good. The ONLY good thing was the red enchilada sauce, it was very good!! PRICE: • Wow they are overpriced for what they are serving! Our combo plates were $17.95 each!!!! The small "Guacamole" was $7.25! Everything we got was sooo NOT WORTH the price we paid! We've eaten at way nicer places for much cheaper! The sad part is we REALLY wanted to like this place!!! It feels like they are just existing! I dont know, Maybe we ordered the wrong things? But, if you can't get the basics like chips, salsa, beans & rice right I can't imagine what the rest of the food taste like. I'm attaching 1 pic of my combo plate. I usually take pics of the menus but didnt get a chance to this time.

The best Mexican Restaurant in the city of Oceanside. The food is excellent. The best part is they have a bakery inside the restaurant. All their pastries, cookies, conchas, everything is made from scratch. The coffee is very good. If you're ever in Oceanside I recommend you stop and eat there. They open up very early also, which is awesome. The Mission has a Native American Pow Wow every year in June, [ 2nd weekend of June]. It's walking distance from the event. Tell them the Native Americans sent you. Thank you 🪶🪶🪶🪶
