  Food is really bad, $20 for 6 little shrimp Pork ribs weren’t cooked well and no flavor at all , I also ordered the brisket platter, it was like straight beef jerky and all cold , we waited 40 minutes + for the food to be ready , I’m pretty sure this is not how southern style BBQ supposed to be like, total is $90+ not worth it , wouldn’t recommend this place

  Beef ribs had almost no meat on it. It was like someone ate all the meat from them and they slapped some bbq sauce on the leftovers. Can’t believe we paid $60 for ribs with barely any meat and flavorless tri tip

  Don’t understand why a BBQ restaurant would advertise a brisket special and then be out of brisket by noon on a Tuesday (restaurant not crowded). Guess I’ll call ahead next time even if it’s only an hour after opening, never fun to make a 15-20 minute drive to be told the only thing you came for is not available one hour after opening.

  I was working in the area when a coworker recommended that I stop by this restaurant for lunch, and I’m really glad I took their advice. From the moment we walked through the door, I was genuinely impressed by how friendly and welcoming the staff was. It immediately set a positive tone for the entire experience and made us feel comfortable right away. We came in during lunch, and after placing our order, the food arrived surprisingly quickly, which was great since we were on a bit of a tight schedule. I decided to go with the brisket sandwich. To be honest, I didn’t have very high expectations going in, but that changed after the first bite. The brisket was incredibly tender, full of flavor, and cooked just right. It was one of those meals that catches you off guard in the best way possible. One of my coworkers ordered the catfish sandwich, and I asked if I could try a bite. I’m glad I did because the flavor was outstanding. The fish was well-seasoned, crispy on the outside, and perfectly cooked on the inside. Overall, between the excellent customer service, quick turnaround time, and quality of the food, this place really delivered. I would definitely come back again and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to others.

  I first patronized this business almost three decades ago and the food was amazing. This isn’t “soul food” because soul food is prepared and cooked with intention. Soul food is spiritually inherited and initiated through love and energy. Let’s start with the Mac n cheese. It was very crunchy and dry with limited flavor. The braised cabbage was super bland and uneditable. The cornbread and ribs were very dry. The rib eye steak was juicy, chewy, thin, and had a lot of fat. Yes, it was all these things and tough to cut. The fried shrimp was oily and the oil tasted old. With all of this going on, the sweet potato fries were left untouched. I laughed when I received the bill because the food wasn’t worth $5. Slapping some salt on food doesn’t make it soul food or good. We arrived hungry and went to a different restaurant.
