  Safeway is reliably stocked with every day items that we all use. Prices tend to be at market rate, or a little higher. The rewards program is wonky-sign up, pay annual fee, then hope they reduce things when you check out. Some items need to be scanned, other items need to be checked off on the app. The app doesn’t work well in the store so you can’t select deals available. Lots of hoops to jump thru. Annoying

  This is for Livermore. First street, but not 4495, the other first street. YES, Livermore has two first streets and both Safeways occupy these locations. Thanks for the great Turkey pot pie, but WHY was there a funny odor lingering throughout your store? It started the second I walked in at the Floral Dept (my nose detected it immediately) and that should block bad smells. Was there a power outage last night or early this morning? Anyway, just a heads up. It was lingering down several of the aisles too.

  These jerks in Pharmacy refused to refill a prescription after they told me IN PERSON the day before that I could pick it up the following day! They have done this more than once. They received the script from my doctor 4 days prior. DO NOT TRUST THESE SELF SERVING corporate shills with your prescriptions!

  For a large store this size they should definitely have more than check out line to serve customers. Everytime I come here there's only one open check out line and a long line of customers. Like for real? Some people don't have a lot of time to spend unnecessary time. Prices aren't cheap either compared with almost all grocery stores in the area

  I would like to recognize Stephanie in the deli department at Safeway on 51st Street for her outstanding customer service. I stopped by during my lunch break to pick up sandwiches for myself and a coworker. As soon as I arrived, Stephanie came out from the back and immediately started helping me with my order. What impressed me most was that she was also training a new employee at the same time, while managing a growing line of customers. Stephanie handled everything with professionalism, patience, and a positive attitude. She made sure customers were being helped, directed team members to assist those waiting, and kept things moving smoothly. It was clear she was taking the time to properly train a new employee while still providing excellent service to everyone in line. I actually asked her if she was the manager because she carried herself with such confidence, leadership, and authority. She told me she wasn’t, which surprised me. Stephanie demonstrated the kind of initiative, work ethic, and customer service skills that make a great leader. If she’s not already on track for a leadership position, she absolutely should be. The new employee she was training was also very kind and eager to learn. It was her first day, and thanks to Stephanie’s guidance, I’m sure she’ll do great. I don’t usually take the time to write reviews, but Stephanie truly deserves recognition. She made what could have been a busy and stressful situation feel organized and welcoming. Safeway is lucky to have her. Thank you, Stephanie, for providing such an excellent customer experience!
