- RSRobert Stiles6 days ago1.0Ordered two entrees for take out. Turns out... they don't come with rice which I didn't find out until I got home. Or maybe they just didn't give me rice. I didn't see on the online menu it mentioned it doesn't come with rice. Either way that was a huge bummer. You would think when they were bagging up two saucy entrees and no rice that they would check. I ate a little of each one and then threw it in the compost. The food was not great also. I won't be back.

Even without going in store they offer a caring experience that is special. Of course, the food is very tasty. The best indian food Ive had albeit! Yet this has become only one of the many reasons Khana Peena is my favorite restaurant. Ps. I love the mint chutney

The food quality is so good, curries are vibrant, spices are perfectly balanced.Service is excellent and making the dining experience genuinely enjoyable. The atmosphere is cleaner and cozy. They have beautiful patio sitting which makes us enjoy our evening even more beautiful with delicious food and drinks. They have full bar with lot choices of Cocktails. This is now my best place to go for authentic Indian cuisine in Oakland. Highly recommended!

We went to this place with a group of 16 people to celebrate our friend's birthday on 11/12/2026. We ordered multiple items, but we have never tasted such awful food. It felt like most of the dishes were full of salt or made with very old ingredients. We also ordered Baigan ka Bharta, which tasted completely rotten; we even had to return 5 plates of it. The samosas were double-fried and dripping with oil, and the lassi was extremely sour. In the Bhindi Masala, there was nothing but tomatoes. Most of the dishes tasted exactly the same. While the food looked delicious at first glance, it turned out to be horrible.
