The food was incredible, and the view of the water was simply magnificent. The valet was extremely rude about punctuality and parking spots, making me feel quite uncomfortable.

Nobu seems past its prime. Probably what made it special in the past has been surpassed by other restaurants continuing to evolve. So, the price you pay for what you get doesn’t seem remotely worth it. The Japanese shaved ice desserts were the highlights, the rest was OK at best.

I just had a birthday lunch here and didn't expect such horrible service & expensive valet. I've been to multiple locations, however Newport Beach is by far the worst experience. They have dirty restroom with fruit flies inside and within the restaurant there is many fruit flys inside as well. Not very enjoyable. The meat was average as best as far of the service and rude managers and servers. The manager approached my table while I was on the phone and wanted me to cut my conversation short which was rude and unprofessional . F Newport Nobu! Over priced and over rated ! Do not come here. Waste your money at Malibu or San Diego locations

We went for the all-you-can-eat Sunday Brunch Buffet, paid like about 145 for it, it was okay, not a lot of variety, the food was okay, we requested to sit on the outside but there was no space. The staff was okay. I would probably not do the brunch buffet again.

I had an incredibly disappointing experience at Nobu Newport Beach, and it was bad from start to finish. The service set the tone. Our waitress "Ploy T. "was rude, dismissive, and made us feel like we were inconveniencing her just by being there. Instead of feeling welcomed, my cousin and I were treated like a burden the entire time. It was uncomfortable and honestly dehumanizing—completely unacceptable for a restaurant at this level. Unfortunately, the food didn’t redeem the experience—it made it worse. We followed the waitress’s recommendations and ordered the toro scallion cut, toshi roll, baked crab cut, cod butter lettuce cups, and tuna rice cakes. Nearly all of it was terrible. The only dishes we genuinely enjoyed were the tuna tacos and the yellowtail jalapeño and those were the ones we chose for ourselves. What’s truly alarming is what happened afterward. Both my cousin and I became seriously ill, experiencing severe gastrointestinal symptoms—gas, bloating, heartburn, and nausea. We later found out we had contracted a parasitic infection from the food we ate there. So not only were we treated poorly during the meal, but we ended up sick afterward. It’s hard to imagine a worse dining experience—especially given the price point and reputation. What a terrible way to spend both money and vacation time. I would not recommend this location to anyone.
