This was one of the worst customer service experiences I’ve ever had.
My family and I ordered through the official Sonic app. When we asked for the sauces that should have come with our meal, the manager, Sergio, refused to give them to us, claiming we had ordered through a third party, even though we ordered through the Sonic app.
We even offered to pay for the sauces again, but he still refused. Instead, he told us there was a limit on what we were allowed to buy. Rather than trying to help, he was rude, dismissive, and disrespectful.
At one point, I said his name, “Sergio,” the way I naturally pronounce it with my Mexican accent. He corrected me and said I was saying his name wrong and that he wasn’t Mexican. As someone who is Mexican, I found that interaction unnecessary and uncomfortable. It had nothing to do with the issue we were trying to resolve.
What upset me the most was the way my children and I were treated. We were simply trying to resolve a problem with our order, and instead we were met with hostility.
I also witnessed Sergio put his hands on an employee, and I have a video of what I observed.
This entire experience was embarrassing, unprofessional, and disappointing. I will be escalating this matter with Sonic’s corporate office and sharing the evidence I have so this incident can be properly investigated. I hope no other customer or employee has to go through an experience like this.
