  We had been looking forward to trying Morimoto Napa, especially since we booked for Morimoto at Sea on a future cruise. Unfortunately, while the service was very good, the food itself was rather a letdown. The staff were polished, attentive, and professional, and the room had a lively energy. We also felt the wine pricing was reasonable for Napa; our Cakebread Sauvignon Blanc was about $70. After being seated we felt too loud & requested a patio table and was told one might be ready in an hour. Then requested a table move to a quieter spot. Well finally something opened up after we mentioned perhaps we’d move on. The issue then became the food quality. My wife’s tonkatsu was disappointing: the pork was dry and the breading separated from the meat, which really defeats the purpose of a dish that should be crisp, juicy, and well-executed. My sushi selections were fine, but not memorable, and Halibut dish tasted dry overly salty rather than fresh, silky, and vibrant. For a tab of around $300, we expected more precision and more memorable flavors. Nothing was terrible, but much of it felt underwhelming for the reputation and price point. We were glad to try it, and the service team deserves credit, but based on this meal, we would hesitate to return! Sadly, this experience has us rethinking whether Morimoto at Sea is the right choice for us.

  What a pleasant experience, especially if you're a "Foodie" person who appreciates the best in culinary craft. Before you venture the valley start your day at world renowned Morimoto.

  I was treated for Mother’s Day at Morimoto’s. The menu sounds very inviting. But personally, I just love roast duck. This place has the best roast duck, hands down, I’ve ever had! It was so tender & juicy; the taste was very subdued without the overwhelming Chinese spices they normally use in other Asian restaurants. It was worth every penny! I would come back here, drive almost 2 hrs just to have the roast duck. By the way, the other dishes like the Branzino & Miso Salmon were just as exceptional! I posted this review just for the roast duck. That’s how good it was for me.

  Incredible food, amazing sushi. Omakase took over 3 hours, would not recommend it unless the entire table is doing it. Everyone else sat for a long time. We asked the waitress if they could do it all together but no.
