We went to the San Jose location a few years ago, so we were really happy to see them expand to the Mountain View area! The place was packed on a Wednesday night, but everything was still well organized and the food came out surprisingly quickly.
Overall, we had a great experience. Everything we ordered was fresh and delicious, but the rice pilaf with lamb shank, stewed mutton soup, and Amina yogurt with almond were the highlights for me. The portions were great and very satisfying.
Service was amazing as well. We’ll absolutely be back for more!

So glad to have found authentic Uyghur food right in the neighborhood! We had a great overall dining experience, with two standout dishes that we absolutely loved:
* Lamb Pilaf (Polo): Flavorful, fragrant rice paired with tender meat and balanced nicely by the house yogurt.
* Lamb Tripe / Intestinal Salad (Yang Du): Perfectly seasoned with just the right kick of spice and great texture.
The only slight disappointment was the lamb wonton soup. It arrived a bit late and IMHO the meat filling was a bit on the dry side and could have been more tender.
Overall, the quality and authenticity of the flavors will definitely bring us back. A wonderful addition to the local dining scene!

The disappointing part of this experience was not the $2.5—it was the lack of clear information and thoughtful customer service.
I ordered the Beef Noodles Soup (招牌牛骨汤牛肉面). The item name and menu text did not identify it as spicy, show a heat level, or offer an option to have the chili served on the side. I recognize that the photo shows red chili on top, but a photo does not communicate the actual spice level or clearly explain that the chili will be added directly to the broth by default.
I was sharing the noodles with my five-year-old. After the food arrived, I carefully picked out noodles that had not visibly touched the chili, but the chili oil had already spread through the broth and they were still too spicy for her. I explained the situation to the server and asked whether we could have just a small amount of plain noodles—not a replacement bowl. The response was simply that it would cost another $2.
I understand that restaurants normally charge for additional food, and sharing one entrée does not automatically entitle us to free extras. That is why this review is not about being unwilling to pay $2.5. It is about how a preventable menu issue was handled. Given the unclear spice labeling and the fact that a young child could not eat the noodles, offering a small portion of plain noodles—or at least responding with some understanding and suggesting another solution—would have shown reasonable hospitality.
This could easily be prevented by clearly labeling the dish as spicy, asking customers whether they want chili, or serving the chili on the side. The rigid handling of such a small situation left a very poor impression, and I would never bring young children here again.

We've come back a few times. Better than the other location.
Stand-outs are the lamb pilaf (great seasoned meat, rice is cooked a long time), the lamb kabob (although pricier) and the yogurt dessert.
Service isn't great, there only seems to be one person up front, but she is very pleasant. However, I cannot lie the music they play is very bad. It was a jazz/bossa nova cover of Mikshake by Fergie. And similar songs. Interesting!
They offer a free yogurt for writing a review, but these are my honest thoughts and we would have gotten the yogurt anyway.
