- KKKC19Mar 29, 20261.0Beware if you like your shins. The carts at this store, on two occasions, have slam locked their brakes the instant that you walk out the front door. Twice now, I have slammed my shins into the lower section of the cart. It would be one thing if it did this at the end of the parking lot, but doing so at the door is absolutely unacceptable. Not only can you get pain from Safeway in your wallet, but now they can cause you physical bodily harm as well.
- EVEmily VerrinderMar 27, 20261.0I moved to the area recently and I gotta say, I don't think I've ever had unpleasant enough of an experience at a grocery store to bother to review it or had such consistently poor experiences with cashiers at a Safeway (and I've shopped at so many). I'm not expecting retail workers to be my best friend, totally get how draining retail and service work can be, but many different cashiers here will not even acknowledge your existence. I don't need a life story or anything, but I mean... literally just eye contact or a "hi" at least would be great. You don't even need to do both! This store makes me feel a little crazy because I leave thinking "am I entitled for expecting a single "hello" and for my cashier to bag my groceries? I'm always happy to help bag, especially when there's a long line behind me or I bought a bunch of stuff but neither of these things were the case. One bag worth of groceries, zero move to bag it and this isn't the first time it's happened. I know this kind of general attitude tends to be because retail work can be emotionally exhausting or maybe upper management is difficult but this store kind of makes me feel bad for having the audacity to need groceries. You don't even need to be particularly nice to me, but "hi" and bagging seem like a fairly bare minimum, right?
