New sit-in takeout place, clean, inviting, window views of Riggin and Atlantic, as this place is right on the corner. I had a little trouble finding it, but glad I didn't give up. To basically try everything but the gyro, I ordered The Works. It's good eats overall. I swapped out salad for taboule...its good taboule, not overly lemon-y...the hummus, all the sauces, the two falafel (fragrant spice I couldn't place, crunchy on outside, a bit gritty dry inside but fine) 4/5....beef/meat proteins 4/5 good flavors...and still on the kabab stick!!! So take care to remove before digging in..
Only drawback was the chicken 3/5 was dry, but it is white meat, so it's a delicate cook... the ground beef was a bit overworked, kinda tough but not baton hard, not rubbery, i liked the harder chew. You get one pita. I prefer a fluffy pita, not the hard thin kind resembling store-bought pita in a bag. But tgis one is larger than store bought and kinda shaped like a thin naan. We shall see if the pita and leftovers reheat nice or not. Portions are generous. The Works is very sharable. I hope this place thrives in MPK...grateful they are here...and I will be back to try their gyro...and those huge portions of cheesecake and tiramisu cake. I nearly caved and got both. Of course I also want to try the baklava...p.s. I liked the dolmas (grape leaves), they are delicious but fair warning the pieces are wet; the mushy inside is delishness. 5/5
Parking is free and shares the lot with Ralph's and El Pollo Loco and the military recruitment center.
