- KEKalen Elaine2 days ago1.0I had a very disappointing experience at the Vons self-checkout today. The employee working there was extremely rude. She rolled her eyes at me and spoke loud at me as if I couldn’t hear her, even though she was standing right behind me. I was simply trying to check out my groceries and expected to be treated with basic respect. I left feeling embarrassed and unwelcome. I hope management addresses this because no customer should be made to feel that way. I can’t say why I was treated like that, but it made me wonder if I was being judged because I’m Latina. I truly hope that’s not the case, but the interaction left me feeling singled out. She has black straight hair and was at the checkout 3pm .

I asked when will they will put out fried chicken. I was told more will be out in about a half hour. I said ill be back. An hour later I go in again and was told chicken wasn't done yet. And got the excuse that they only had one fryer so it takes a while. An hour later I go on again. Still no chicken. I was told it takes long because they have to coat each piece of chicken. Half hour later I asked... do you even have any chicken in the fryer? They said no. So I waited 2 1/2 hours being fooled by these Vons employees. They could have just said no more chicken, why lie? I thought I was being patient and to kill time went shopping in the nearby stores. I left the Vons tired and hungry. I called the store and complained but I didn't feel like they cared.
