Have had a few issues at self checkout where a staff member needed to help me and there are no self checkout staff member overseeing. And whatever you do, don't do a pick up order. 3 orders in 3 months have had missing items, the latest order was missing $99 worth of items. I was told there would be an investigation and someone would reach out to us. Our refund request was denied and no one reached out. This was 2 months ago. We have left messages with managers and those have been ignored.
- PPPeterJul 14, 20261.0I just realized thatthis is where my online oders get shipped from. 75% of my orders are missing items or have the wrong number of items. And I'm not sure management really knows about this because I never get a survey about whether I'm satisfied with my order. Instead I get an e-mail two days later where SAFEWAY (!) tells me that they have decided that my satisfaction with the order on three parameters was great (see image). And it leaves me no way to disagree with that. Imagine having spent 30 minutes on the phone with customer support and having to go out and buy the remaining items for your dinner party and then you get an email saying that they did a great job. This is so the people responsible for home delivery can show management that all their customers are happy with the delivery even though it is far from the truth. They do ask about feedback on the individual products I've purchased, i.e. if I like the lemon. And they also ask about their website. But what does a nice lemon or the website help if forty percent of the items I ordered for my dinner party is missing or incorrect (Which was the case with my previous order)? This is a perfect example of a large, old company with old Thinking. They should take a page out of Amazon's (and thereby Whole Foods) book as they are obsessed with customer satisfaction and measures it all the time in terms of reviews and feedback so they can learn and improve.
