  A inviting hub of civilization in the wilderness. Given it's geographical proximity to the rest of the world, the store was a wonderful find. We stopped in for a resupply of provisions. while traveling on the road. We found the staff to be a mixed bag. Some staff members were extremely personable and deeply professional while others were dismissive, disenfranchised and disingenuous at best. We absolutely loved the baked goods and found the highly enthusiastic bakery staff to be exemplary customer service rock stars. The produce area was impressively maintained demonstrating that someone took extreme pride in themselves and their work. Our visit to the fresh cut meat section was equally rewarding. The fresh meat product selection proved visually impressive. Overall, a productive visit and we left with more then what was on our list. I've historically always found Safeway to be pricey, but I do believe they also sell a higher quality product then the lower priced nearby competition. Visit with confidence.

  I don't normally write bad reviews. I don't normally care if a cashier is grumpy or doesn't communicate. I bought pork buns from the Safeway deli today. Upon biting into one, I unfortunately found out the meat was off. I decided to call the deli to report this, figuring that it would be good for them to know that their product should not be sold. What I was met with was an individual who was dry, rude, and demeaning. Their only response to my information was telling me "okay, take it back to the store." I say "you want me to take it back to the store?" because I've literally never had to call something like this in this before. They respond "yeah" in the most "yeah, duh" tone I've ever been addressed with. I am not able to return to the store. I physically do not have the means at that time. I tell them this. After a moment, I ask if there's anyone I could contact for a refund. I bought six of the pork buns, which is $11, so I'd really rather have that back considering I don't trust I can eat any of them. The answer is a demeaning "yeah, if you take it to the store." At that point I'm so bewildered. I say out loud, exasperated but calm: "hey, this is some really bad customer service." They proceeded to hang up on me. Okay. So here's this review. +1 star because I shop here every week and it's normally fine. But that was appalling and is making me seriously reconsider trusting the food quality here. Apparently they don't care!
