Food was fine, but my burger was not medium as asked, but was still mooing. The hostess barely said hello and not even a welcome; same with the wait staff. Dessert was fine.

Having never been there before, but hearing good things, we had high hopes for a good experience. Mabel’s did not disappoint. From the moment we went in through the doors we were greeted by the nicest people working there. After being seated we received a complementary glass of an outstanding Champaign to celebrate the occasion. For an appetizer we ordered a dozen oysters that were some of the bests I’ve ever had. And trust me when I say that the bar is high with me. We also had grilled asparagus which were perfectly seasoned and cooked. For the main course I had the grilled bass and my wife had the New York strip. Both meals were fascinatingly good and perfectly portioned. Lastly, for dessert, we ordered the chocolate tart to share. The plan was to try it and take some of it home to enjoy later. Well, that plan didn’t last long. It was so good that it disappeared from the plate in minutes. Everything from the ambiance to the folks working there, to the food was fantastic. If in the area, I highly recommend an evening at Mabel’s. You won’t regret it.
