  Out of a handful of not great experiences, came the worst of all. After 9pm on Monday night my husband ran in to grab last minute balloons, card and cake for our 7 year old the next morning (the ones planned fell through so we scrambled) he paid for those items, he knew the bakery was closed, but saw a cake out he just wanted put in a box, now after asking several employees, he was directed to the "manager" that was next to the time clock waiting to clock in from lunch, so he asked her if she could get a box after she clocks in, her response; "the bakeries closed, and I don't feel like it." All while my husband is standing there holding two giant balloons already paid for in his mechanic uniform trying to get his 7 year old a cake. He asks another employee behind the manager who finally agrees just to put the cake in a box to sell to him for $27.99 on top of the already $50 he's spent on balloons and card. Mind you, this is now at least the 4th employee he's asked to help him with this. This store is garbage, the employees are beyond lazy with attitudes to match. I will say that manager is very lucky it wasn't me she acted this way to, the interaction would have been much different, and these people are going to give attitude to the wrong person one day and they deserve the response they receive from it. I made FB posts in the area and it seems this is a common theme for attitudes and laziness at this store in particular, and they don't seem to have a loyal customer base, and this is why. The appropriate response would have been to rectify the situation and demand accountability from the employee, alas the manager Mike doesn't return angry customer calls. Lost a few customers, and the Internet did it's thing and generated complaints that someone will have to answer to at some point. As for me, I'll go spend my hard earned money where it's appreciated, apparently Safeway doesn't need our business.
