  The only Italian thing about this place is the name. The food looked like large orders of Chef Boyardee à la Mexican, and I even saw bottles of green Mexican hot sauce sitting out. Bad service for takeout as a walk-in. No one bothered to tell me the wait would be at least 30 minutes. When I realized how long it would take and asked to cancel, they proceeded to do everything else before finally canceling my order.

  I used to go to the original location on 3rd many years ago. I was really sad to hear it was closing but didn't get a chance to go before their final day. When I heard that they had opened up in a new location I knew I had to stop by. The food was just as delicious as I'd remembered. The decor and atmosphere definitely remind me of the old location and they still serve you cafeteria style. You can pick and choose what you want and try different combinations. I recommend the vegetable lasagna, it's simply delicious! Pair it with a salad and cheese bread and I promise you'll be satisfied and have some leftovers. The only draw back is the parking lot. It's in the back and is only $2 with validation. But it's very narrow. When we went, two vehicles that were parked directly across from each other didn't pull all the way in and the vehicle in front of us could barely squeeze by. Our larger minivan would probably not fit so we decided not to take a chance. We were able to find parking down the street though.

  I finally got back for a lunch at Aundre's. I had the Thursday special with an alacart sausage. The tortellini could have used a little more salt in the pasta water. The sausage was damn near near perfect with the bell pepper sauce. I plan to return for the Tuesday special, and maybe go back today for lunch. Before Aundre's left their location at third and Fairfax I would bring home their Tuesday and Wednesday special for Mom and me. I was surprised that after I had a filling meal that my sugar was normal at bedtime and still this morning. As a diabetic I really appreciate the low carb carbs. I had a conversation with the cashier at the old place off of Fairfax. He said that the food is prepared for their clientel with health issues. So lower salt(blood pressure)and no anchovies (gout), Worcestershire sauce has anchovies. With every gout flare it takes less to feel worse. Their salad dressing has Worcestershire sauce. I've grown accustomed to the fact that a meal is going to cost about $20. So an Andre's special and parking is a deal.

  A staple here in LA since the 60's. Haven't been back here since it was located across the street from the Farmers Market. Love their new location and the vibe definitely feels like they've been there since they started. It's that classic diner feel fron back in the day. Grab a tray and slid in line to pickup some good old Italian made deliciousness. The spaghetti with a side of meatballs in a small size is good for one person with no leftovers. The large however is big enough for 2 meals so be prepared to be full with a lot to take home. Oh and don't forget the garlic bread. The mushroom sauce was also delicious and highly recommended. The pepperoni pizza was also a good size and the cheese was oh so good! Also don't worry about saving seats, you'll be surprised by the time you checkout a space will be open for you and your party. We will definitely be back for more!

  This place is iconic. I used to go to the original location, across the street ftom the Farmer's Market. My most memorable and favorite thing to eat is the mushroom sauce with spaghetti. This time, did not disappoint and was close to what I remember. I got the small spaghetti plate ($11) with mushroom sauce and another meat sauce on the side ($2). Two garlic breads ($0.75 each). The garlic bread is a MUST. Ambience: Buffet style and casual. I love the diversity of customers...just goes to show you that everybody is LA is here and loves the place. Drinks are refrigerated or you can opt for just ice water, which is where you also get the red pepper flakes. If you're looking for parmesan, you might have to look for it on another table. They also had gelato ice cream and little cups/containers of refrigerated desserts. Parking: We just parked on the street. But they do have their own parking with validation. I think I'll try their other daily specials the next time I come here. Overall, my family loved it and we'll be back to try other entrees. One more thing...NO SAVING TABLES. That is all! 😁😁😁
