  The store manager would rather get rid of the self checkout, that only requires 1 staff per self check out, and overwork his staff all because he refuses to comply with city ordinance. Im filing a complaint to the citt since several other Long Beach stores have complied. THE STORE OWNER NEEDS TO GET FIRED IF HE CANT DO HIS JOB CORRECTLY. There is more people standing behind me on this photo.

  Dont order a pick and go order unless you want your data mined. They now FORCE you to give them your location through your phone to pick up your groceries cause if you call the store it goes DIRECTLY to voicemail. You're a grocery store, you dont need my location. Enjoy my formal corporate complaint

  Lines are frequently 10-20 people long. In the ten years I've lived next door, I've gone from treasuring the proximity to avoiding it at all costs. It used to be I could go grab the ten things I need, zip through self checkout, and be out. Now my ice cream melts before I even get to the front of the line. Instead of walking the half block here, I now walk three blocks to my garage, drive to Ralph's on 4th, shop, pack up my car, drop off my groceries at my apartment, go park my car at the garage and then walk back home. It's way more work, but it's worth it to never come here again. Edit: To Vons Corporate: Taking out the self checkout lines was MORONIC, you're all INCOMPETENT. Why would you not pay one person to man three self checkout stands instead of having two cashiers for the entire store?? Your petulant reaction to the LB city ordinance has only served to turn your customers against you. HIRE MORE CASHIERS!

  Deli counter unhelpful and poor service. I asked for just a cheese tomato and onion sandwich, that’s all nothing else. I was told by the grumpy guy come back at 1030. Pointed me to the ready made sandwiches unfortunately they ALL had meat on them, Turkey, Ham Beef and Tuna. He could not be bothered and it would have taken a minute to make and that would have been good customer service. I spoke to a Jose a manager who seemed sweet enough. I pointed out if staff cannot be bothered then at least make up some veggie sandwiches, he agreed and said he would get them to make some veggies movie forward. He did offer to get them to make me a CTO sandwich however asking your staff to make a simple sandwich up that they initially refused I would not want any EXTRA items in my food so I politely declined. The staff on Starbucks on the other hand were so lovely, polite, helpful and patient.

  Had a bad experience with the cashier and the bagger. I expressed to be careful with the eggs not to place the in the bottom. Guess what he did? Yep and when I brought it to their attention the cashier responded with "it's not a big deal". I responded it is because I'm paying and they might break and I don't want to return them due to being a loss for the store. Then Christopher responded rudely "next time you bag your own grocery". Which I did after my items being thrown in my grocery bag store to rearrange the eggs. Store needs improvement in customer services and need to hire more cashiers. During rush hour 5-7pm oly 2 checkouts are open. After removing the self checkouts this place has been chaos.
