Albertsons on Broadway in Lemon Grove is the worst grocery store around. The PRODUCE is SO TERRIBLE and the selection in the store is so one sided. My husband bought pork chops and on the package was a partially torn off yellow sticker, but the sell by date was 5 days in the future. WHEN I OPENED THE PACKAGE IT WREAKED. He took it back. They cater to one ethnic group. They weren't always like this, why now.

I’ll preface my review with saying that I never leave reviews unless something is massively wrong. Also prefacing: I am a DoorDasher so I go to grocery stores all day long and I am polite. I’ve been assigned this store two times this week and it has been hands-down the most unpleasant experience both times. Generally, I go to self check out because I feel like if I’m working, I should be working and not having someone ring the stuff for me. I’m also fast and organized so it works. The first time I went through, it was empty over they’re but they said I had too many items for self checkout and that’s totally understandable. So I went through the regular checkout and it backed the line up pretty bad, but I understand that they want to keep things on their radar with that many items. Today I went through with only a handful of items— I got to the end where I needed to scan a QR code and the woman let me know that they don’t do that over there. I politely asked her “oh! why?” She scoffed at me and said “we just don’t!!”— and pointed to the fact that they had removed all of the hand scanner guns. I was essentially trying to ask her if just that one was broken or if none of them will be available in the future— b/c I’ve never experienced that in another store. She continued to have an attitude with me and voided the sale and accused me of not ringing up the bags I used (“uhm! I don’t see your BAGS ON HERE”). I showed her where I did— no apology. Just refused to make eye contact with me or answer my questions— and handed me off to another older woman who was rude both today and the other day. I know the service industry is probably not great… but to be treated like I stole some paper bags (they cost $.10 and this is literally someone else’s money— why would I do that?) and was massively inconvenient to try to go through self checkout on two occasions this week… I feel like management needs to have a chat about professionalism. I think the reason people are favoring self check out so much these days is because service has become extremely rude. When I left they were getting attitude with a guy who didn’t realize he couldn’t pay for alcohol in self checkout. What happened to politely just informing people on things they don’t know? :’) Grocery stores like this one are also why people are door dashing more I bet, lol.

I usually get the drive up to store pick up ... 5 stars! They usually whip out my order within 40 minutes if it's during the day ... In the afternoon it can take forever and at times delayed but they are so awesome at everything! I take my dogs in the car and the employees load up my order in the trunk and I'm off in seconds! Absolutely love this service! The employees are always nice and greet you well, not to mention they are so helpful. This is the only location I've used for this service but I LOVE IT AND HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT!
