What a wonderful dining experience! The location is very convenient, and I especially appreciate that they are open until 10:45 PM—perfect for a late dinner. The atmosphere is warm, relaxing, and beautiful.
A special thank you to the manager, Gary, and the wonderful staff, Charlie and Nikki, for making my birthday so memorable! They went above and beyond to celebrate with us and made me feel very special. 🎂❤️
They also recommended the sashimi, which was shipped directly from Japan. It was incredibly fresh, delicious, and beautifully presented. 🍣
I truly enjoyed everything about our experience and would strongly recommend this sushi restaurant to anyone looking for fresh sushi, great service, and a wonderful dining atmosphere. We will definitely be back!

I went to the restaurant to pick up my order, but the Asian lady staff member wearing glasses carried on acting as if I wasn’t even there. She said my order wasn’t ready yet but would be ready in a few minutes. I waited there for 35 minutes. If I’m going to have to wait there anyway, why do you take phone orders? They’re short-staffed; if the tables are full, they don’t bother with phone orders. When I got there, my order still wasn’t ready and they hadn’t even started preparing it yet. This was a terrible experience; I’ll never order from here again.
Ordered the $52 Omakase Chirashi Bowl to-go from Niko Niko Sushi. At that time, I assumed the small amount of fish might simply be normal for this price level(basically one piece of each kind sashimi). Later, I purchased a $52 chirashi from O Fine Sushi and received substantially more fish meat, which made the difference in portion size and value very noticeable. Would not order it again. I also contacted Niko Niko Sushi about my experience. Their response was that if I wanted more tuna or salmon, I should leave a note next time, or order their box special instead. This completely missed the point: I was not requesting extra fish or a customized order. I was questioning why a standard $52 “Omakase Chirashi Bowl,” advertised as featuring their premium selection of fish, contained so little fish in the first place.
They did not explain what the standard portion should be or offer any meaningful resolution. Based on both the food and their response, I found the value extremely disappointing and would not order this dish again. Customers considering the $52 chirashi may want to ask about the actual portion before ordering.
We ordered tuna sashimi and sushi set. The tuna cut is uneven, thick at edge and thin at center. It has some oil in it, which tells me it’s not done by real Japanese. We love Japanese foods and visited many Japanese restaurants but this one is probably worst. The udon I ordered has black fungus, cabbage, and lurid root slices in it - which are typical Chinese ingredients and never appeared in Udon before. Miso sea-bass was too sweet, and lacks miso taste. When we called the waitress for some more wasabi she came over - before we said anything - asked us if we want to checkout. Total $130 for two of us, which is not expensive for a Japanese restaurant, but the foods are just not Japanese. It is only in name.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Absolute 10/10 — Fresh, Friendly, and Outstanding!
First time trying Niko Niko Sushi in Irvine, and let me tell you… they did not miss!
We were craving sushi and came across this spot, and it delivered on every front:
• Atmosphere & Vibe: Amazing environment with great energy.
• Top-Tier Service: The entire staff was super friendly. They take the time to break down the menu so you understand everything completely—whether you have questions, dietary preferences, or food allergies, they’ve got you covered.
• The Chefs & The Food: The chefs are amazing. The sushi was incredible, the rice was perfectly seasoned, and everything tasted wildly fresh.
• They have fresh wasabi available, you just have to ask for it!
From the food to the service, everything was spot-on. Definitely coming back! Do not pass this place up.
